What is causing all of Sucrose City's earthquakes? Local seismologist Captain Kaycee baffled

Wait wait wait.
Earthquakes? as in multiple earthquakes...
I have a hunch that an earthquake broke the bridge.
However there must be something that is causing all these earthquakes such as maybe a large dragon? or a candy monster of some sort?
thoughts?
(i swear every summer event some staff member gets sacrificed)

as my first year here on cs it seems as if we're doing a sacred ritual & sacrificing the staff to make the earthquake go away
