I see everybody talk about that sand horse.
What is that sand horse? :what:

Its the shortened name for the horse you could get from the sand pile, like the dog. It looks like the nightmare guards that were guarding the sand pile.

The white creep seemed more wanted than the black one. Same with Tan Gryffin compared to other Gryffins. And White Raven compared to black.

Those are the only ones I would think rarer than the littermates because of the comparable frequency of both being asked. There WAS a difference.

Others like Blue Star or Cloud Castle one I'd think more the factor of popularity due to looks (the outcomes mentioned above seem very much comparable with still a noticable difference!).

I'm undecided on the Black PPS.

Nightmare lion was another one. Tons of people wanted to swap the dream lioness for the nightmare lion. Not to mention I once traded in 16 dream sheep in a row and got 8 dream lionesses xD

I got almost only Nightmare Lions, and so did several other people. IMO the requests to swap was pretty much equal.

Not accusing you or anything but I know I get biased if I get a lot of one outcome (and get annoyed "everyone" wants the same swap), despite this not being true. Overall I don't think there was a difference between the lions.

I got both on the first try (Lioness 1st then lion)

Maybe they can turn into rare like, in three or more months, but now... not a chance for then to be rare. Uncommon at max.

See what I posted above. Some have the potential. But I am not sure yet.

I got every pet fairly easy... But the hardests were probably the sand horse and the castle dog.

I actually think the sand horse was difficult to get. I traded for one and then got 3-4 from the pile.

You guys need to differ between hard to trade and rare.

For example: Many many many people had Black Creeps, Black Ravens and Grey Griffons for trade. At the same time many many many people were missing the White Creep, White Raven and the Tan Griffon. So I think there may be a difference in rarity between those.

This doesn't mean one will be rare. All 4 can still be Uncommon. But the Tan Griffon and the White Creep would go up in rarity faster, because there are less around in effect. Same for White Raven compared to Black one

The Sand horse is a different case: It was a Banner Pet so everyone who didn't get one fast wanted one. But if you followed the threads, this horse was around very often in the end.

The Castle Dog and the Blue Star Dog (at least to me) don't seem significantly rarer than their litter mates. But many people seem to have found them a lot cuter --> highly popular!

So yeah, hard to get doesn't nessicarily mean Rare, it could also mean very cute and thus very wanted or in some other way special.

The rarity of the individual pets is very hard to estimate at this point.

There were probably very, very few people who got more white ravens than black by trading in at the raven tower. And yes, the point was that the demand for the male lion was higher, meaning less people got him when they traded in.
Obviously there will be rarities below rare, that's a given. I think probably a few will be rare, or will turn rare very soon. And I'm sure there will at least one OMGSC pet too. But I think at least one or two will be rare to begin with, such as possibly the white raven, the castle dog, the white creep etc.

I agree with FW; in my experience, there have been rare event pets. Like Easter and Halloween 2011, and Christmas 2011 as well. I'm pretty sure there were instantly-rare pets from the Medieval Faire 2011 as well, but I don't remember.

I highly doubt any of the pets will be rare right away. There were no pets from the faire that were rare to start with, not even the burnt dog. And I'm fairly certain there we're none from the beach event either. Honestly, people just confuse rarity and demand, and because of that, people place event pets too high in their mind. I could end up being wrong but I would be extremely surprised if there were any rares from this event.

Rares from easter events are usually because you mostly know what you're going to get with the tokens and the rares are usually the least popular pets.
