Where is everyone getting these pets?

It's been said quite a few times and there is an announcement about it, but they are the fireflies in sleepytown by the lamp post ^^

If yout put black backgrounds on the new pets the grown one has wings and the younger ones glow ^.^

There is a new area on the map, little lights on the path in sleepy wood. And there is also a dog in the sand pile.

I feel like I've seen another but I can't find one right now, so maybe I imagined it >.<'

I know about the fireflies in town, but how many pets are there? Does anybody know? Cause I still need two pets from the sleepwear shop, so I'm torn on who to use my fireflies on when I have enough...
