is there a limit to have many tokens i can have at one time?

there is no limit to how many tokens you can have.
however, you will eventually reach a banner limit where you will no longer be able to search for tokens every 20 minutes.
usually there is a banner counter and a maximum that gets increased throughout the event but i dont believe one has been released yet.

When and if one gets implemented. I don't believe they've done so for this event yet but it is possible.

Dig from the minigame in the Crystal Pile once every hour, you might get crystal tokens instead
