I LOVE the archaeopteryx from this event, but I don't understand why people keep calling them raptors? :lol:

I call them archaeopteryx too, but I get why people call them raptors. Archaeopteryx is similar enough to raptors, raptors are more well-known than archaeopteryx and it's easier to spell, lol ^.^

Archaeopteryx is a maniraptor, not technically a "raptor" in the form of an actual dromaeosaurid, but still a kind of raptor.

Because they look like small raptors. Very similar to a microraptor. Not everyone knows scientific names of dinosaurs and that's okay, no reason to shame them.

Velociraptor is more raptor than the archaeopteryx. Archie is more bird-like.

"Raptor" is a broad term. Birds of prey today are classified as raptors. Raptor dromaeosauridae are defined as being bird-like and some modern birds are thought to have been descended from them.

Since some are confused to what I said... Velociraptor is a smaller version of the T-rex; it can't fly. Archie can fly.
