e kind of person who always tells you what you want t
o hear. she has crafted herself an external image that
is lovable and appealing, an engineered compatible p
ersonality often reflecting exactly what other people
want to see in her, a guise borne out of ambition and
the pursuit of power and self-gratification. while she
might come off as a trustworthy confidante by playin

ies on strategic helpfulness to create her own indisp

u are indebted to her. as someone who enjoys feeling
needed by others, her social tactics typically revolve
around “giving to get”. she is meddling and over-invo
lved in the lives of others, and feels as though she kn

of powerful relationships, she often ignores what som

and using them against people in insidious ways. she sees herself as good, knowing b
etter, and selfless because she believes her abilities make her entitled to the attenti
on or love of others, an attitude that often leads to unsatiable obsession revolving ar
ound people who deem themselves particularly useful to her. when she does not rece
ive the appreciation she feels she deserves, that’s when things get nasty. like a cham
eleon, gwen will likewise change the way she acts toward other people if they fail to
meet her expectations: she targets the needs of those around her with devouring em
pathy and compassion and withdraws it whenever they do something she might deem
wrong. although she won't directly express her dissatisfaction toward people who do
n't return her devotion, gwen's entitlement can easily go through the roof and she is
quick to condemn others for not adequately appreciating her. in the face of rejection
she can even become quite desperate for love and appears willing to take it by force
if necessary. in this regard gwen's dominating nature tends to surface when others do
not heed her advice. she is quick to resort to accusing others of not appreciating her
or her actions: nothing is ever her fault and everything is on the other person becaus
e she has only ever been “good” or “helpful”. frequently pushing her preferences on
to people on the pretext that “this is the best” for them, gwen imposes guilt onto o
thers and this is converted into further forms of denial such as “i am doing this for y
our own good” or “this hurts me more than it hurts you”, loving confrontations whic
h can undoubtedly lead to conflicted feelings in others. due to how involved she ten
ds to become in the lives of those around her, gwen is prone to falling victim to extr
eme fits of possessiveness and jealousy, a core contradiction of her own personality
─ the aching void that craves love combined with the belief that the self is not inhe
rently lovable, or that love has to be earned, a viewpoint much like that outlined in
the divine logic: “whatever is taken must be taken by force, not given”. her self-de
ception can reach incredible levels considering how often her destructive acts are r
ationalized into hard love. beneath a facade of benevolence, gwen is a self-righteou
s and inflexible woman who is moralistic about whatever she thinks is the right thing
to do, an aspect of her personality shaped by growing up in the ranks of the chantry.
she is quick to condemn others and justifies herself on moral grounds, unable to allo
w herself to be proven wrong or selfish, often completely denying her own aggressiv
e feelings. evidently, her kindness is not genuine or from the heart. in fact, she mak
es people depend on her because she wants to feel influential. a compulsive helper
who refuses to look at her own problems, gwen manipulates those closest to her for
“their own good” and feels like the superior one in all of her relationships, possessin
g a prideful attitude of “what would you do if i didn’t help you?”. gwen may have co
me from humble beginnings but she is proof that power is an intoxicating libation th
at will ultimately destroy you and those around you 𝘌𝘓𝘌𝘝𝘌𝘕. orphaned at a relativel
y young age, gwen was raised into the chantry life in grimgate as a lay sister. as an a
ffirmed she was noted to be a relatively quiet girl, albeit one particularly troubled b
y a sense of existential dread many lay-brethen themselves found disconcerting. inq
uiries into her person were only initiated when she was found in her lodgings mutter
ing “peculiar”, “non-english” speak, as described by one of the initiates delivering h
er end of day meal, a girl seemingly “trapped in a state of disorientation and deliriu
m”. it's not unusual for the chantry to take interest in those with alleged mental and
astral senses, so when a dreamwalker was alerted of what appeared to be a possessi-

sel under study. plagued by enigmatic dreams and other sim
ilarly eerie disturbances, her troubled sleep was investigate
d for several months on end in isolated quarters and when it
finally became clear she truly was suffering from chronic pro
phetic visions ─ accidental possession believed to be a hallm
ark for those who exhibit powerful manifestation or psychic
abilities ─ gwen was prematurely ushered into the care of th
e dreamwalkers who sought to assume mentorship over her l
ong before she might go on to take her vows. although this t
utelage would wind up granting her certain privileges many a
colytes would themselves envy, gwen would soon find herself
the willing victim of holy suffering in the name of the dark di
vinity. as it was plausible she might be a conduit for invidia h
erself, her early training in becoming shadowsworn revolved
around her initiation into the art of dreamwalking itself, an
exclusive teaching revered throughout their religion. though
gwen’s episodic trance-like states manifested themselves at
random, dreamwalkers of the chantry began to rely on both
chemical and non-chemical remedies to induce her into the
se spells. the chantry’s interest primarily stemmed in what
proclamations she made while in an altered state of consci
ousness ─ “oba blēḍ … andina viṭa … oba māva andinna …”
─ utterings seemingly echoed from old tongue referenced i
n scriptures from the era of savona, phrases only given to t
hem pieces at a time before she became noncompliant or p
assed out. though broken speak, someone well-versed in th
e old ways could still recognize this was an ancient prophec
y being foretold through her, specifically one regarding the
promised high celebrant of darkness. once this revelation c
ame about, extracting pieces of this prophecy from gwen b
ecame increasingly important up until the very moment she
took her vows and for years onward too, and would eventua
lly earn her the nickname "instrument of the divine logic".
