earned his doctorate in history at 31 years old. he is now 34.
when he's not teaching, he reads, writes and conducts resea
rch on the supernatural, specifically those with the ability to
practice witchcraft. when tom was just 15, he watched his p
arents die at the hands of witches. tom was spared, but the
trauma never left him. since then, he has dedicated his life
to learning all there is to learn about witches and their prac
tices, lifestyle, and history. as his obsession grows more and
more destructive, it leads him down darker paths. now, he's
become a researcher by day and vigilante by night. he consi
ders himself a hunter of sorts, independent from any group
that tracks down the supernatural. his vendetta is deeply pe
rsonal, and it's taken over his life. he wants answers, but ab
ove all, he wants to inflict the same pain they've caused him.

to his students and colleagues, thomas is a wise,
charismatic young man who seems to have his life
put together. he cracks jokes during class and is p
retty laid back. but it's all an act. he's become an
expert at developing a trustworthy, likeable perso
na that he works hard to maintain. he's not the st
rongest, tallest, or most threatening man, so he r
elies on his wits to outsmart his opponents. he fail
s at times, of course, especially with more power
ful witches. his personal relationships suffer due t
o his introversion, as he only has the energy to ma
intain surface-level, superficial relationships. his r
omantic relationships inevitably fail, and his famil
y has just about given up on him entirely. thomas
feels alone in this world, but he's chosen for it to
be this way.
growing up, thomas was an extremely happy, extr
overted kid. he got into a bit of trouble, but his p
retty eyes and innocent smile got him out of just
about every situation. he was close with his paren
ts and two older brothers, samuel and joseph. no
w, he speaks to his brothers once a year at the m
ost- usually if there is a death in the family or som
e other important occasion he's guilt-tripped into
showing up to. thomas grew up christian, but has
since diverted from his faith. he has a scar on his
nose but no tattoos or other body modifications.
