history : she never wanted to kill those people and commit
those crimes. but there's a reason why no-one believes her
when she says she's innocent. after all, would you believe
a scared girl begging for innocence when the murders and
crimes are right there in front of your eyes on tape? nyx
can't say she's good at hiding evidence or not being caught,
but she's good at escaping, which is why it's taken a bit of
time for them to catch her. she can't remember her past
very well, some of her memories have been 'locked away'.
she vaguely remembers some things though. she remembers
being engulfed by a burning feeling when she was younger,
and that when she came to, she wasn't home anymore. she
remembers fighting her doppelganger, but doesn't remember
what happened at the end of the fight. she remembers being
home with her parents in the warmth of their small house,
snuggled into a blanket. now she spends her days in her cold
and empty cell, with nothing but the permanent bracelet
for some warmth.

history to say that kaida's family is a mess is an understatement. in just her
immediate family, there are about three different hybrids, including kaida.
all her siblings share a greek gorgon father, and kaida's mother is a japanese
nure-onna, so kaida's just waiting for the day she is able to transform into a
full snake. ignoring her family troubles (the poor girl has cousins who are
harpies, so that always makes family reunions fun) , kaida's had a pretty
simplistic life. her mother left shortly after giving birth to kaida, so she
doesn't remember her, but her father and her sisters all treat her well. she
had some difficulty controlling her 'stone gaze' so her father gifted her the
sunglasses she continues to wear now. she deals well with monsters of all
types, but her first meeting with a human didn't go well - one of her distant
human relatives now has a stone hand. but in her defence, they surprised
her, what else was she meant to do? so her father decided that, in order for
her to get used to being around humans, he would send her to this school,
but she has no interest in humans or this school at all.

gravitates naturally towards people, but struggles to understand people who
are more shy, as she'll try to get them to come out of their shell. she's a big
tease and loves to make nicknames for people, although she never means
to hurt anyone by her teasing. if she realises she has hurt you with it or you
tell her you want her to stop, she will and won't start up again. she's the
type of person to remember the little things about you. she tends to be a
bit mischievous, and likes to play small pranks on people, especially the
humans. she doesn't care much for school or the humans here, especially
the girl is already smart herself, so she has quite an apathetic attitude

turn people into stone, however she can't do a full body yet
and tends to turn body parts instead. she has a few scales
across her body from her mother, along with a snake's forked
tongue and long fangs. her favourite thing is her snake hair,
which have grown up with her. she's even named them after
the greek gods. she's waiting when she gets old enough as
she will then have the ability to switch between her human
appearance and her snake body.
