eckless. it's hard to scare her, but if something su
cceeds in doing so, she doesn't outwardly show it.

or years, and her lengthened lifespan isn't going

western britain, where she spent her time growing
up on the beaches. she never finished primary sch
ool, instead working on the farm to provide. when
a rare hurricane hit her home, she lost her father
and the family farm, leaving her family even poore
r. seeing an opportunity for quick money, adelaide
joined a pirate crew when she was fifteen. she sent
her shares home for years. one day, she nearly die
d of a gunshot wound, but was saved with a vampi
re bite. she returned home, but her mother was ter
rified of what her daughter had become. she hasn'
t been back home since then, thirty-four years ag
o. she rose in the ranks, eventually taking over as
captain on her second ship, the defiance.

e sixteen. he learned to be a soldier and then beca
me a musketeer, and is in the port on a mission, a
waiting orders. because of his father, he's rather w
ell-educated, and it makes him seem more experie
nced than he actually is. even then, the life of an

kolgríma is one of fafnir eyland's guardians. she is untrusting of most people, especially new
ones. once she does trust someone, though, she tends to let them get away with a lot, which
does annoy absalon, her human. she does not get embarrassed easily and has little fear when
it comes to social situations.
kolgríma breathes fire, but doing it too much can hurt her throat. instead, she'd rather breat
he a warm smoke or a gas that can knock a human out for about five minutes or less. she can
fly and her sheer size means that she has quite the advantage in battle, fire or not. the smo
ke she can breathe is just normal smoke, but she can produce quite a bit, possibly disorienti
ng someone similar to an octopus and its ink.

nathaniel is often in a state of sorrow and tends to dwell on the pas
t. he is scared of forming connections due to his past of losing ever
yone he cares about. thus, he keeps himself distant—literally and fi
guratively. he recalls his past often, with all its loss and guilt. the p
rice he paid to lock up the ancestors wasn't worth it, he knows now.
nathaniel has always been a little quiet and good at keeping secrets.
he was always a realist, too, but now he's on the more pessimistic si
de. people change with time, and while nathaniel is still nathaniel,
he is no exception to that rule. back at the time of the curse, he wa
s on the headstrong side, but now he usually thinks things through.
he can take his time, you know—he's not dying anytime soon. he is
n't afraid to have a controversial opinion, but he still usually keeps it

he thinks he deserves the pain immortality has caused him. howeve

nathaniel andriveaux was born in 1793. his parents were both witches/wizards and members of the requiem coven. he grew up during the time of atlaric, when the coven's magic was "purer." as an adult, nathaniel began to realize that the coven was now corrupted under the leadership of atlaric's son. he joined the small rebel group and agreed to carter's plan of sealing the ancestors in the tomb. it's the best thing to do, he had thought. so he helped host the party, watching as the drinks were spiked with the sleeping herb. it's for the better. he watched as the tomb was sealed. they had done what was right, even if he had sealed a lover or best friend in the tomb. but then, a curse of immortality was cast upon him and the other rebels. at first, he didn't think it was so bad. who doesn't want to live forever? eventually, he married a woman named elizabeth woolf. they had no children, but they were happy. together, they moved to southeastern iowa, where nathaniel had to enlist to fight for the union in the american civil war. he fought begrudgingly until the war's end, then discovering how his immortality worked. when he returned home to elizabeth, he realized something: his friends were dying. not too long after that, his wife passed away due to a form of cancer. nathaniel was terribly heartbroken and realized that immortality truly was a curse. a year later, he moved back home into a secluded house a few miles from his hometown, resigning himself to never loving again. in mid-1943, nathaniel was drafted into the army to fight in world war two (european and pacific theatres). combined with the civil war, he had seen enough horrors for many lifetimes. he lost friends and another part of himself. he doesn't like to talk about it. luckily, though, he was put in the records then, thus avoiding any more drafts due to his "age." the house he lives in is old but modernized and neat and a few miles from town.

personality what did arthur campaign on? determination, reso
lve, and peace with the hyenas. his campaign surely wasn't ba
sed on lies—arthur is a very determined person, although that
does mean he's pretty inflexible. once he has a plan, it's a cha
llenge to get him to change it. a little easier if you're someone
close to him, though. on the surface, he is a nice yet strict pe
rson, but on the inside he tends to be very critical of others. c
an't let that show when you want to be reelected! he's somew
hat ambitious and wants to be more than a mayor, but for now
he's fine with things. he may say he'd lay down his life for his
noble cause, but deep down arthur is a little too cowardly for
that. suffice it to say, the man doesn't mind lying.

history arthur was born on july sixth, 1994 in pensacola, florid
a. his father was a coast guard, causing him and his family to
move often. as a kid, he loved to joke that the coast guard mo
tto, "semper paratus" meant always ready—to move. he'll say
he has practically lived everywhere in the us with a coast. he le
ft for college before his father retired, moving to atlanta after
he finished to be an air traffic controller. he always knew about
climate change, but he didn't like to think about it. he also tho
ught that it was inevitable at that point. arthur only recently di
scovered his interest in politics and went back to college so he
could be qualified to be atlanta's mayor.
