personality;; she is the ultimate hippie lady / bohemian flower child. she is completely in tune with nature, being relatively pacifistic in most settings, unless she feels someone is being threatened. she will protect nature and pokemon (wild or captive) with every ounce of passion in her. she doesnt have the best people skills due to being relatively sheltered growing up, and tends to feel much more comfortable around pokemon than people. she can also be a bit naive or easily tricked by those with less-than-honorable-intentions. truly she is just a sweetheart who wants the best for the world as a whole.

backstory;; from the moment she was born her mother could tell she was different; aside from the pregnancy being unplanned with no father figure for support, her mother was unable to handle persephone's oddities and left her in the care of her own mother, perce's grandmother, when she was just a week old. and so, this young lady was raised by her grandmother. the older woman was a true forest spirit; she believed that every living thing had a soul, a story, a name. she raised Persephone with this same mindset, and spent most of her childhood playing with wild Pokémon and caring for plants with her grandmother. when she was 6 years old, her grandmother introduced her to a Pokémon that she had befriended; a legendary being called celebi that had chosen to trust the old woman as an occasional companion due to her loyalty to nature. the two women live in a small cottage in a pretty forest clearing, surrounded by flowers and herbs that they grew from seeds or saplings. but lately her grandmothers health has been declining; no matter how many herbal teas she drank or how much time she spent meditating with celebi in the meadows, she still was growing frail/weak, with a cough deep in her throat. when persephone had the vision from the mews, she immediately shared with her grandmother that the other 17 trainers would be coming to the meadow that they called home, and she has been pushing herself lately trying to make sure everything looks beautiful. each Pokémon on her team had been her friend/partner for years before this and it is very rare for you to see them within their pokeballs. she feels it is cruel to "lock them up" and even now she doesn’t consider them to be "hers", per say, as she does not believe in owning another living being. they are her partners, her equals, not her slaves.

things have changed a lot since the times of old in the pokemon universe; as the years passed, the globe itself began to change, the tectonic plates of the earth shifting in time. the eight separate regions have slowly melded together into one single continent; it is called "iroiro", which essentially translates to "many" and "a variety". things were great for awhile, with all pokemon types and people groups getting along very well with one another for many years. many people believed that the legendary pokemon had vanished, since none of them had been seen for nearly a millennia. but peace cannot so easily be achieved and maintained; there was a group of anarchists who wanted nothing more than ultilmate chaos all across iroiro known as the anarkhia. they developed a virus that caused symptoms very similar to rabies in pokemon; they turned violent against humans and other pokemon as the virus attacked them at a chemical level. ultimately, the infected pokemon would die from it, but the hope of the anarkhia was that they would take many others down with them. somehow, they had gathered a group of the missing legendary pokemon, and once they were injected with the virus, they were released into different parts of iroiro to reek havoc.

the universe somehow knew that this would happen; just over eighteen years ago, 18 children were born on the same day all across iroiro. at first, they all seemed like the average/normal kids, but it was clear at a young age that each of them were different. the universe had gifted each of these children with a type, just like the pokemon had. there was one person gifted each ability; they have the ability to communicate with all pokemon of their type, as well as are able to use that ability themselves in some way. for example, the grass-type person has the ability to speak with all grass-type pokemon, as well as create plant life such as growing flowers.

these 18 young adults have all received the same, nearly identical dream. both mew and mewtwo gave a warning of the anarkhia, of the infected legendary pokemon, and the true upcoming danger threatening their world as they knew it. they have been given a meeting place; a meadow out where the grass-type specialist lives, that is big enough for all of them and their pokemon partners. these 18-year-olds are the only ones who can *hopefully* change the fate of the future and save their world. it is also important to note that no one has seen the infected legendaries yet; people have only begun to witness the sick or strangely acting regular pokemon.

backstory;; she definitely has not had an easy row at life. her mother was a free spirit who never planned on settling down or having a family; the pregnancy was unplanned, and akuma was left with her father (a married businessman, by the way) the day that she was born. her father and stepmother, as well as her two stepsisters, were awful to her as a child, and she grew sick of it very young. she has pretty much been on her own since she was five years old when she ran away from home and no one came after her. she was pretty much the stereotypical 'street rat', living on the things that she could steal from others and trying to find a new place to sleep each night. these tasks were made much easier by her powers of hiding in and controlling the shadows. she has been working as a bartender at a pretty popular biker bar since she was 16, when she of course lied and said she was 18, and with her persona, abilities, & looks she was able to pull it off. when she had the vision from mew/mewtwo, she initially ignored it for a day, but when she told her pokemon team about it, they convinced her to go and at least give it a chance before just writing the entire situation off like she wanted to.

many wolves are surprised to find out that this she-wolf is one of the pack's best fighters. if you were just talking to her in casual conversation, she appears to be a total sweetheart. she is very friendly and confident when talking to others; she loves making new friends. however she has her rank for a reason; in battle, she is a fearless warrior, a true blend of speed and strength. her parents had both been fighters before her, and they trained her to be able to defend herself against bigger wolves. she truly is loyal to her pack, and would have no qualms giving up her life to protect her packmates.

born to an older couple, she was the only pup of her litter that was not stillborn, and so her parents doted on her. they had joined the pack when her mother had been pregnant, and so all her life she has known the safety and security of pack life. she was young and naive, and jumped into a commitment before she really knew what it meant. she thought she loved the brute, and he claimed to love her too. but as the years passed, the fae realized that the love had simply been infatuation, and as they grew older and their personalities changed, she realized they were not a compatible couple. part of her wants to leave her mate, but recently she realized she was pregnant, and now she is torn. should she stay with him simply because he is the father of her unborn pups, or should she leave him and try to be truly happy as a single mother?

she's always been kind of a dreamer; she's the artistic type, her primary passion being art of all sorts. she loves to draw, to sketch, to paint; it provides her a creative outlet for her thoughts and feelings. no matter where she goes, she always has a small sketchbook on her and some charcoal pencils, just in case inspiration hits at any given moment. she has been accepted to the prestigious art school, the school of art institute of chicago (SAIC), on a full-ride scholarship, and she'll be moving there just a few weeks after graduation.

chiara was born to a typical middle-class indian family; her father is a cardiac doctor, and her mother is a nurse at an obgyn. chiara is the oldest child of 3, with two younger brothers who are currently 6th graders. her parents have very traditional expectations for their daughter; they think that she's heterosexual, and they do not know that she is attending an art school. they think she was accepted to the university of chicago to study pre-law. chiara loves her family, but she feels as though she cannot truly be herself at home without being judged for it.

something to know about chiara however is that she has a diagnosis of OCD (obsessive-compulsive disorder), which she was diagnosed with when she was in middle school. basically, it causes her to be a total perfectionist, the type of person to play every minute of every day in advance; which is why she wanted to be the one to plan this trip with her friends. her ocd also affects her artwork, and even when other people say her pieces look good, she will pick her art apart by the tiny details that she sees as flaws in them.
