dexter charlotte is one of those boys who see-
ms to be hopeless from the start. to avoid mi-
ncing words, he was an accident. his parents
were both teenagers when he was conceived
and his father only married his mother because
she was pregnant- her christian parents kicking
her out and forcing her to live with him. in a
trailer park. this is where dexter was born, and
where he lived for the first seventeen years of
his life. he started smoking young and would s-
neak out of the house as often as he could, ty-
pically just hanging out around the park and c-
ausing trouble as kids without role models tend
to do. his biological father decided to bail wh-
en he was about five and since then his mother
had a series of bad boyfriends- bad to her, and
bad to dexter. when the boy was finally old en-
ough to get a job he left the trailer park and
moved into the cheapest, sketchiest apartme-
nt he could find in the inner city. life was tou-
gh back then, and it still is. he dropped out in
senior year and has been working at the same
denny's since then. the only difference betwe-
en now and when he first left is his involveme-
nt in the resistance- it's led him to new friends
and gives him some kind of purpose to keep h-
im from going insane. as a child he was so inn-
ocent and hopeful but after years of hurt he's
