Rowan is a complicated one to understand, particularly if it is your primary meeting. It will be easier to begin with the basics. You already know his full name, however once you begin to see him around more, you may have the privilege of calling him 'Ro' (otherwise spelt 'Roe'), beware not to do it too soon though - he values respect. This large brute has recently turned 4 years old, even though he may act older. Large he is, most likely one of the biggest dogs here, as he belongs to the tallest breed - the Great Dane. He stands at 35 inches at the shoulder, and weighs around 85kg. His coat is short and sleek, and is rather rare as it is a blue merle pattern, meaning he is mainly blue with black/darker grey patches, and he has a white splodge on his chest as well as white 'socks'. You may need to do a double take when you first come in contact with his eyes, they are a stunning icy blue colour and always seem as if they are calculating something of importance. His body is not just tall, he is lined with muscle everywhere, and his posture is almost always tense, making him seem quite an intimidating character to near everyone.
You most likely could tell most of the above from a glance, so now we need to dig deeper into the brute - a challenge for everyone who meets him; he is an extremely reserved brute and doesn't cope too well with emotional situations. Himself he is very monotone, he hardly ever shows any emotion other than 'normal' or anger. Even his 'normal' is always on edge as it seems his body is prepared for a fight or jump scare the entire time, making him constantly tense and as if on the lookout for a never ending danger. This often puts off many dogs, as it earns him the unpredictable factor. Thing is, he is unpredictable. He is not exactly famous for patience, in fact he is incredibly short-tempered, snappy and fiery. When he lashes out it may often seem unreasonable, but this brute has reasons for every single move he makes. The best way to avoid this is to never question him in any way, intelligence or strength. He tends to be quite a stubborn mule at times, and even if he knows he is wrong he may not always admit to it and rather threaten those around him to cover it up. While this may be the case, he rarely actually causes any unnecessary harm to packmates, it is mainly just overly harsh warnings. He enjoys the fact that others are intimidated and maybe even scared of him; he does enjoy a little company, but he puts respect as the highest factor, and if they are scared of him it is unlikely they will violate it. You will never quite know what is going on in his head or be able to decipher his next move, even if you ask him he does leave some things unanswered and simply remains silent or changes the subject, creating a bit of a mysterious air surrounding him. He is too serious for his own good, and tends to be very cold and dry, but if you manage to break through the very thick ice and get him to open up even slightly you may understand where he is coming from.
It is important to understand that he isn't all bad, even if you aren't anywhere close to breaking through his barriers. If you are a female, it is likely you will experience his chivalrous nature. He is incredibly protective of everyone in the pack, but he does treat the faes with utmost respect and honour, even moreso than the Alpha at times. He will always let them go first, have great manners towards them, protect them from any harm and even attempt to hold back his aggressiveness towards them. He isn't flirty, that would be difficult with how emotionless he is, but he does give out sincere compliments to both genders if the timing feels right. It may not seem it at first, but if you ever watch him in action to do with his job you will see how truly selfless he is. He is willing to put his life on the line to protect someone, even if it is someone he isn't particularly fond of and constantly threatens. He is loyal to his pack, rank and anyone that is close to him. Physically, he is very powerful and once he knows he is allowed does not hold back in his attacks. He is brave and hardly ever backs down from a challenge or danger, and that is partly linked to his stubbornness. Sometimes he finds it difficult to run for long distances, and he has a pain in his right back leg from an old injury which sometimes acts up. If he gets hurt he will not admit to it as he does not like to seem weak at any time.
