history; born in korea as a daughter to the emperor, when she turned 20 she disappeared for a period of time, returning a year later on the eve of her disappearance. as the years went by it became apparent, she wasn't aging. for a fifty years she was revered, believed to be blessed by the heavens, then the skeptics came. western influence met exaggeration and she was labelled a witch and killed. a month later she came back to life, and so went her life, a cycle of life and death in a world she could not make a living in. when she was about a 150 she met thalia for the first time and realized that they had to be soulmates. each time she lost thalia she swore she'd find her again, no matter how long she had to wait.

once upon a time estela was a kind, generous girl who was popular in high school. now, not so much. once she had a bright future, she'd secured a future in soccer, then her mother died of cancer. her grades slipped and she'd barely graduated, then her father had a nervous breakdown and their finances went. she could no longer afford to stay at uni after only half a semester and needed to care for her father. to say she's bitter is an understatement. she's cooled off a bit, becoming a rather gloomy and somber person due to her unfortunate circumstances, but she still has the quick temper and an itch to fight from her competition days. she's constantly sarcastic, grounded in reality and cynical. she has no patience for people with no direction. she tends to imagine what her future could have been like if she'd actually been lucky. due to her circumstances, she has a strong sense of responsibility and duty, shelving her dreams for her family and ultimately 'ending her life' as she believes. despite everything, she can relax and have fun, it just depends on how well she knows someone. she has a dry sort of humor and tends to poke fun of others to make people laugh. most of the time she's a voice of reason but she does pull others into some wild stunts
