she was just a little girl living the simple life in jiangsu province of china. she even had an older brother since the one-child policy didn't apply to her family's chinese enthnic minority. of course, life was pretty good until her once-nephilium father died. with a mundane mother, she had no knowledge of training her not one, but two nephilium children. and so, she did what as best for the kids and dumped them at the shanghai institute. meiying doesn't blame her mother for anything, but she surely can't say she loves her either. at the institute, meiying was a very sociable individual as she met many traveling shadow hunters; in time she even adpoted the nickname 'cherry' for her non-chinese speaking companions.

it is the power to clone oneself. in fredrick's case, he can only produce one of himself, often naming his duplicate 'teddy'; he is identical to freddy and is fully capable of making his own thoughts or come under the control of his creator. the clone is most often compared to 'a very solid and realistic hologram', and if he were to become terribly injured or 'killed', the reproduction would simply poof away, leaving the original fredrick unharmed.

brothers. and coming from an old and powerful
family doesn't help his stance either. many like
to wonder how he's made it so far in the war
since he's so clumsy and pathetic, so they often
