Jamyang never knew what became of her parents, left to the monks of the eastern air temple she was raised with the ideas of forgiveness and living with compassion. As a child, she was fun-loving and carefree always happy to join in on a prank or help out in any way she could. Growing older, however, Jamyang began to understand what had happened to her people. From the brink of obliteration to now Jamyang was thrown into an emotional whirlwind, the more she learned and understood, the more her heart broke. Coping through humour Jamyang had to bury anger and grief that she didn't feel entitled to feel, after all, she hadn't lived through those horrors. Maybe though, that made things so much worse. These feelings began to cloud Jamyang's mind and her bending began to fail her, meditation rather than bringing her peace brought up anxiety and emotions that Jamyang couldn't control. Instead, the girl committed herself to try to learn how the air nation lived before the wars. Travelling from temple to temple in search of texts, scrolls, and interviewing any of the old monks and elders that could give her answers. Taking their knowledge with her Jamyang tries her best to spread the philosophy of the air nation. Fake it till you make it right?

Akari was born to rule, her mother always said that the princess's crimson hair was a sign that she was destined for greatness, to redeem the fire nation of its history. From a young age, Akari understood her duty and would work diligently in her bending lessons as well as her studies. It was when she was still young that Akari discovered not everyone in the fire nation wanted redemption, a few of them tried to kill the young princess so they could install a more pliable monarch who would in time bring them back to war and domination. It was during one such assassination attempt that Akari discovered she had the ability to combustion bend. Sent away in order to protect her Akira was raised in one of the very few fire temples left and learned to control her newfound ability as well as more about the hidden origins of fire bending. It was here that Akari began to dream of a dragon, they've never spoken but the compassion and warmth that she's felt has come to understand that fire is more than destruction. When she was old enough Akira was sent back to the palace with a mark on her forehead and magenta flames, more determined than ever to bring the fire nation back to what it should be. Staking her claim to the throne on the success of this mission Akira is trying to force herself out of her shell in order to enact the change she wants.

One thousand years ago a crimson dragon chose to become human and created a small kingdom, Laven, where he ruled as king and lead his people to a time of prosperity and peace. As time passed, however, the neighbouring kingdoms grew envious of their prosperous neighbour and their powerful dragon king, jealousy turned to hate and in that hate was born a war. The combined powers of the other kingdoms proved too much for the king and he was soon defeated and taken prisoner to be executed at sunrise. It was just before this execution however that the extraordinary happened, four dragons descended from the sky settling before the king. Before he had become human these four dragons had been the king's closest friends, easily having the power to save both him and his kingdom the dragons had come to save their friend. The king however refused, no matter the horror before him the king remained adamant in his love for all humanity even if it spelt his downfall. Desperate to save their friend the four dragons gathered four of the most loyal knights in the realm and to each bestowed their power. The white dragon gave the strength and power of his arm to one knight, the blue dragon gave another his eyesight, the green dragon gave his knight the strength of one of his legs, and the yellow dragon gave the last knight his impervious scales. With these gifts though a deal was struck each knight drank the blood of the dragon thus gaining their ability but also their devotion to the king, never would they betray their king and always would they protect him. With the power of the four dragons, the knights saved the kingdom and their king pledging their lives and deaths to him. Restoring peace and prosperity to his kingdom the king kept his four dragons close creating a bond more than servant and master, but of friendship. Many years later however that bond was severed with the passing of the king and in fear that their powers would be used by greedy souls to bring harm to the kingdom the dragons separated and disappeared into the four corners of the kingdom awaiting their new master.

Laven is a small peaceful kingdom bordered by the larger kingdoms of Holden and Veritas. With a soft and peace-loving king ruling over Laven the kingdom is slowly sliding towards desperation and corruption though these troubles never really reach the ears of the king and his heir. Never having set foot outside of the red palace the princess has grown up blissfully ignorant of the troubles that her people face day in and day out, her only concern being what to wear to dinner. On her sixteenth birthday though a coup d'etat begins and results in the king being killed and her along with her two faithful vassals being forced to flee from all she had ever known. Now surviving by whatever means necessary the princess began to learn the hardships that her people had lived with during and even after her father's reign. Corruption rife under this new rule the princess has awakened in herself the reincarnated spirit of the king that lived one thousand years ago. This has called the four dragons blood to her and once again they will pledge their unending loyalty to their true king and all that remains is for the princess to decide their path.
