winnie right away. and they're right- to some extent. winona still
has much to learn about the world around her (to be fair, it is
quite difficult when growing up in such a small town). she may
be viewed as a "crybaby" from her fellow packmates, but in all
honesty, her heart is too big for her body. she is incredibly
empathetic and feels emotions very deeply, whether it's her own
or those of others. she does her best to put on a brave face for her
peers but as soon as someone asks her if she's okay, the floodgates
open up. having such a deep sense of empathy is very beneficial for
her when it comes to building relationships with others, but leads
her to think more with her heart than her head. winnie is reckless
and impulsive, and with the brains of someone barely out of their
teens, this is often leads her into much more trouble than she
bargained for. overall, her agreeable personality causes her to be
rather complaint to those around her and she is not one to question
the status quo, argue, or challenge her peers, especially those much
older than her.

winona grew up in the sleepy belly of elk creek, living an all-too normal
life. her relationship with her overbearing parents was very strained, and
she counted down the days until she could slip out of their grasp. the chance
presented itself to her during her senior year of high school. she had fallen
head over heels for a boy named archie. he was three years older than her
and an escape from the tension at home. archie was a born werewolf, and
much to the pack's dismay, revealed himself to her as they continued to
date. winona began to hang around the pack and eventually, she decided she
wanted to turn. in secret, archie had bitten her on the leg and they waited
anxiously for the results. two whole years passed and there was not a single
sign that she had turned. but still, she lingered on within the pack, feeling
more at home there than with her own family. when the vampires attacked,
winnie and archie had been together. they attempted to flee, hand in hand,
but the vampires had been too smart. two of the pale figures had archie
cornered, while she had been knocked semi-unconscious on the floor. an
unbelievable rage filled her body as she watched the pair terrorize her
boyfriend, and before she knew it, she had large white paws where her
hands were and a snout poking between her eyes. after years of pointless
exercises and prayers, she had finally turned. in a haze of confusion, she
gathered herself to fight them off but archie wasn't there, and the vampire
lay dead on the ground. she managed to escape, following her fellow
packmates, but archie never turned up. she blames herself for not helping
him in his time of need, and ponders how he could have left her there by herself.
maybe he didn't recognize her wolf form? maybe he thought it was safer for them
to split? winnie refuses to believe he's dead, and does not choose to mourn for him.
