kimaris was the former geo archon of liyue. also known as the goddes
s of authority, she was known to value loyalty, obedience, and compe
tence, and therefore expected such things from her subordinates (inc
luding the adepti) and the people of liyue. once upon a time, kimaris
was the ideal archon - one who was kind, respectful, and benevolent.
she worked hard to maintain peace and prosperity within liyue. howe
ver, the status and power eventually got to her head. corrupted by gr
eed, she sought ultimate authority. the people of liyue began to fear
her, as she committed gruesome acts and made harsh demands on bo
th the citizens and the adepti. her love for liyue and its people seem
ed to vanish into thin air. no longer a respectable archon, the people
deemed her a tyrant. she executed citizens and adepti alike if they o
pposed her. she became self-absorbed, only focused on herself and h
er own goals. after all the rebellions and assassination attempts, her
mental state deteriorated, leading her to snap at the smallest things.
one infamous example was when her belief that the adepti were no l
onger loyal to her led her to massacring them all. yet there was one
adeptus that she latched onto, due to his unwavering loyalty towards
her. however, when he fled, she became incredibly pessimistic and g
loomy. she struggled to maintain peace in liyue for many centuries a
s a result of this change. she eventually stepped down from her posi
tion as archon and retired to a mundane life in liyue. she now goes b
the name of daxia. she retains her golden eyes and long hair, yet on
ce black, it is now pure white. despite this delicate appearance, she
still remains heartbroken and bitter towards the people of liyue for n
ot appreciating her efforts. this resentment festers within her, as she
struggles to live amongst the very people who hated her. when interac
ting with people, she appears as a friendly and polite young woman. i
n reality, she's a hollow shell of her former self. the muted desire for
authority and power remains somewhere within her, but is overpower
ed by her loneliness. after the loyalty of that one adeptus, she finds i
t hard to attach to anyone else. from a tyrant of an archon to a reclus
ive goddess, it's unlikely that that kind archon from before still exists.

as born first, and never fails to rub that fact in his face). her personality is as cold as her ice manipulation. h
er eccentric character caused tense relations between her and the rest of the family, eventually leading to h
er running off on her own at age sixteen. she was soon joined by kaz and the two began to journey across yū
gen together. even though she appears emotionless on the outside, deep down she's grown a fondness for kei
and suzu; and of course, she's always cared for kaz. but for strangers, she feels absolutely nothing. she has a
lack of empathy and will accept nearly any job, regardless of the morality surrounding it. this makes her rath
er insensitive, as she'll use any tactics to achieve her goals. always level-headed, xenia is able to quickly asse
ss a situation and respond effectively. despite being physically weak, her intellect keeps her alive in dangero
us situations. in combat, she usually stays in the background and offers support to the others - however, she i
s more than capable of solo combat. her body is weak, and she lacks physical strength, but she's learned how
to effectively wield her ice in a vast array of offensive and defensive tactics, which makes her a formidable op
ponent. the mastermind of the group, xen is rather strict, but only because she cares. she's very blunt and will
often say things without holding back. although, contrary to belief, her heart isn't completely made of ice.

suzu joined the twins a few months after their departure. she hails from the beautiful land of spring - ánoixi, w
hich lies to the east. she was born into a poor family and grew up on a small farm in a rural village with her mot
her and father. unfortunately, when a disease spread throughout the region, her parents passed away when she w
as ten years old. unable to maintain the farm on her own, suzu eventually lost the cottage as well. some of the
villagers offered to take her in for a while, but with the disease still rampaging, most were reluctant, and suzu
didn't want to be a burden on any of them. she left the village and headed for the capital city in order to hopef
ully find more work. only equipped with an old scythe, suzu taught herself how to wield the weapon while takin
g on small commissions - which usually involved exterminating monsters and the like. she ran into the travelling
twins while on one of her commissions. a rather dangerous one - especially for a single individual like herself - s
he nearly lost her life if the duo hadn't stepped in. aware of her abilities and situation (which wasn't too differe
nt from their own), they asked if she'd like to join them. the girl agreed and the three began working together f
rom then on. like kaz, she has exceptional regenerative abilities as well as the ability to manipulate plants. in c
onjunction with her extensive knowledge of plants, this makes her valuable as a medic. suzu is brave and not  
raid to voice her opinions. she's very self-reliant, which makes her stubborn and reluctant to ask for help. while
usually laidback, but the minute someone challenges her or rubs her the wrong way, she doesn't hesitate to snap
back. she likes to appear tough, but she's more sensitive than she lets on.

xenia's twin and the only son of the leitner family. prefers to go by kaz. despite having good relations with the
family, he followed xenia when she ran away. he always valued his twin sister over everyone else. like his sister
he possesses supernatural abilities. his wounds heal almost instantly. he believes he could regenerate lost limbs
but he hasn't lost one yet to know for sure (nor does he plan on testing it out anytime soon). when in combat, h
uses finger blades - or "claws" - as well as small throwing knives. additionally, he has an increased swiftness and
heightened senses - like a fox. his personality also mirrors his abilities. he's crafty, energetic, mischievous, an
d silver-tongued - a social butterfly yet also secretive at the same time. kaz is the prankster of the group. every
one (except for xenia, who seems to have a sixth sense for her twin's shenanigans) else always falls for his childi
sh pranks. because of this, this usually lands him in hot water with both suzu and kei. he loves to tease everyone
and pester them to no end, but that's just how he shows his affection towards them. he truly enjoys hanging out
with everyone else and can never bear to see them upset - which results in him always trying to lighten the mood
up (although sometimes he cracks jokes at the most innapropriate times). even in combat, he's goofing off and t
aunting the enemy. while he appears to be an easy opponent, he's quite the opposite. even though he has a signif
icant lack of raw power in comparison to the others, his dexterity and wits always keeps his enemies on their toe
s. while he is considered smart, sometimes he can be too careless or cocky. on the outside, he appears carefree a
nd easygoing, but there's more going on behind the scenes that he doesn't show to anyone - not even to his twin.

kei joined a bit a few months after suzu did. the way he joined is rather... strange. kei was the former prince of
zarema: the harsh region covered in unforgiving deserts and deadly jungles. the trio had been hired by the godd
ess of authority to assassinate the current pharaoh and other political figures (aka, his father and mother). little
did they know that there was a son. suzu actually encountered him prior to their assassination plan. she discover
ed the mubarazat siriya - an underground arena that held various tournaments and duels. she ended up dueling a
dark-haired, masked boy who wielded dual curved swords whose hilts also connected into a longer double-bladed
sword. she won, and as a result, ended up defeating the current champion of the mubarazat siriya - which led to h
im forming a grudge before they even officially met. fast forward to the successful assassination, the trio discover
ed the prince while making their escape. he wielded the same weapons as the boy from the arena - and it wasn't
hard for suzu to put two and two together. she knew of his combat prowess and suggested they take him in rather
than assassinate him. at first, kei put put up a fight, but he couldn't battle all three, which resulted in the trio ki
dnapping him instead. he officially joined their group the next day. in addition to his swords, he has the ability to
manipulate fire. he's hot-headed - always picking fights with the others (specifically kaz and suzu). he's stuck up,
rude, and difficult to get along with. he's a cocky bastard and doesn't like to show any weakness around the other
s. the one thing he loves is fighting. to escape the strict royal life, he disguised himself and dueled in the mubara
zat siriya where he honed his combat skills. when in the heat of battle, he often goes insane and suzu needs to sl
ap him out of it. rarely shows his affection for the others, but he does have a soft spot for them. they all know it.

yoshinaga mahiro has some pretty nasty contracts. he has one w
ith the nightmare devil. the devil devoured all of his hopes and
dreams. mahiro no longer dreams at night, but instead has night
mares that he vivdly remembers. however, he is able to summon
the nightmare devil in battle by saying "akumu" and forming an
elephant trunk with his right arm and placing his left arm under
neath it with a clawed hand. his right fingers point at the target
and once he speaks the word, a dark fog emerges from the tips
and shoots towards the target. the fog enters the enemy's body
and causes them to hallucinate their greatest fears/nightmares
in front of them. of course, the nightmare is not visible to his a
llies. the second contract is with the pain devil. there are two
ways to summon this devil. he can say "itami" (physical) or "kur
ushimi" (psychological). the effects differ, according to the phr
ase. while it is very useful in combat, unfortunately, his contra
ct makes it so mahiro has to feel the same pain as the enemy.

ask his coworkers to describe him in one word, and they'll most likely say somet
hing along the lines of "lunatic." mahiro is quite the enigma. why did he become
a devil hunter? the answers quite simple: to die. the man never knew his parent
s and grew up in an orphanage, where he was never adopted. when he left the p
lace, he had nowhere to go, no one to turn to. so what did he do? he became a
devil hunter. his hopes and dreams had vanished long ago, so making a deal with
the nightmare devil was no biggie to him. he feels he has no purpose in this worl
d, as it hasn't been very kind to him, so he might as well go out in a blaze of glo
ry fighting against evil devils, right?? he's used to people coming and going, so h
e has no reaction when his buddies brutally die right in front of him. most peopl
e find that eerie, especially since he seems like a social butterfly. when you firs
t meet him, he's bubbly, sociable, courageous, and optimistic. he'll have the goo
fiest grins on his face and will be so hyper he'll be bouncing off the walls. furthe
rmore, he loves sticking his nose into other's business and learning the deepest,
darkest secrets of his coworkers like he's dissecting them. will play pranks on hi
s partners all the time. the harsh reality is, he doesn't give a rat's ass about oth
ers. when he gets in the heat of battle, he doesn't care about what happens, be
cause he simply wants to die. he's quite daring, and will jump in or use his devil
s without thinking. unfortunately, for him, his last name means "luck eternal".

r in favor of caelum. years of endless bloodshed were finally comin
g to an end. no longer were they recognized as simple hired blades
but as heroes who helped usher in an era of peace and prosperity.
equipped with the glaive, martraðakljúfari, circulating rumors spe
culate that the mysterious lady of midnight is able to cut through
both space and time. the legendary blade itself was forged from o
ne of the moon goddess' ribs. despite her otherworldly appearance
and the elegance with which she carries herself, zorya is a human
just like everyone else. however, she was cursed by an evil sorcero
r long ago, causing a darkness to consume her body. because of th
is, parts of her body are engulfed in a deep purple flame, and she
lost her ability to see without her mask on. self-conscious of this c
urse ands it demonic appearance, she wears long, flowy clothing t
hat covers most of her body. the celestial maiden is not as emotio
nless as others make her out to be. she cares deeply for her comra
des and looks out for their wellbeing. in battle, she's quick-witted,
fearless, and confident in every strike. in her world, she is the epi
tomy of human strength, intelligence, and adaptability.
