history;; Marla's parents are extremely overprotective and often embarrass her. As she got older, this and her bookish nerdy personality made it hard for her to make friends. She didn't have the same common interests as other kids, and prefered deep meaningful conversations instead of casual banter about cartoons and cute boy bands. She isn't too pretty either, so other kids didn't really like her. She became more and more reserved, her only friends were characters from stories she made up in her head. He parents moved to other schools with hope she'd find more friends, that maybe tat was just a mean school. But things never got better for Marla, and she grew more and more withdrawn, staying in her room most of the time. It wasn't exactly that she was sad, she enjoys peace and quiet. But deep down, she really is lonely. The most recent place they moved, was into a nice old Victorian house, but it was cheap because all the past residents got creeped out. As Marla explored, she discovered that it used to be inhabited by witches. This thrilled her since she has such a love of fantasy ideas. So she pretended to love the school and have friends so they would stay in the house.

history;; Ashpaw, at the time, was a rebellious apprentice. He never listened to his mentor, always was sneaking out to explore, and never helped out. Cats would look at him and say things like "Stay away, I can't be seen with you," or "You are a disgrace to this Clan ." He was the odd one out. He stepped up his game and went against everyone. His soft spot for kits started when he saw a newborn kit with no parents being bullied by apprentices. He remembers telling the apprentices that he'll claw one eye at a time out.
