i ended up combining the column into one column and used right columns within it to separate it. this let me put the other text box into a right column within the left so they could be next to each other. i adjusted the box sizes a bit so theyd fit better. its a bit hard to explain without it sounding complicated, so i would recommend comparing the codes to see what i changed c:
