You assumed it was for a scandalous kiss or a romantic night under the stars, but before you could ask him what the (expletive) he was thinking, he muttered something in Latin, summoning a dark plume of smoke to emerge from the Earth beneath his feet. From the haze rose several tall, slender candles, which twirled and danced about, their flames flickering like stars against the night sky. He smiled and offered you another glass of champagne. "What are you waiting for? The night is young and so are the two of us."
