Hachiko
Born Nov. 10, 1923. His owner died while off at work some time around May 1925 when Hachiko was 2 years of age, and 9 years of waiting later he died March 8, 1935, aged 11 years.
(thought I'd just put this here because people keep getting things mixed up, thinking he waited 11 years and not 9)
