I'm also a bat person! My grandma loved them. I have a ton of bat plushies and gifts from her. I use to watch rescue videos with her all the time when I was a kid. It sucks that people just think they carry rabbies

We also have a couple bats where I work! They're very cute and sweet.

bump, but also, i am a biologist! we have been seeing strides in helping bats overcome WNS.
not only this, but it is within everyones best interests, including the governments, to fight WNS. it is projected that the US would save 495 million dollars annually if WNS was erradicated from the bat population.

little brown bats have been showing a new adaptation that allows tolerance towards the fungus, as well as vaccines are being created. it seems that for now, they are somewhat effective. it is not unheard of for adaptation to be swift within a species that is being effected on such a large scale, and luckily, this is what is happening for bats.

not only am i a biologist, i am a pagan bat worshipper. these little guys mean the world to me!
