Well, you just have to wait until they have another dressup that allows you to do this. It's quite frustrating when random dressups are where they shouldn't be. If you have it then you shouldn't put it up at all.

There really is no real way to help. They are digital rats, and most pets end up in the pound because their owners get banned and there are huge litters of rats and chickens. If they were real rats then sure that would be something to worry about.
