Suddenly a shooting star blazed over the treetops. Spottedleaf's tail twitched and the fur along her spine bristled.
Bluestar's ears pricked but she remained silent as Spottedleaf continued to gaze upward.
After a few moments, Spottedleaf lowered her head and she turned to Bluestar. "It was a message from StarClan," she murmured. A distant look came into her eyes. "Fire alone can save our clan."
"Fire?" Bluestar echoed. "But fire is feared by all the Clans! How can it save us?"
Spottedleaf shook her head. "I do not know," she admitted. "But this is the message StarClan has chosen to share with me."
The ThunderClan leader fixed her clear blue eyes on the medicine cat. "You have never been wrong before, Spottedleaf," she meowed. "If StarClan has spoken, then it must be so. Fire will save our Clan."

Veryx stepped back through the wall and out onto the street. He'd heard enough. Grim was right, the lower class was organising a resistance, but the other groups weren't dense enough to be spotted. He glanced around again, yet could not see any other cluster of souls in the area. Remaining in this semi-corporeal state, he wandered down the street to do a double take but his senses did not betray him. This was all. For now. And it all seemed so futile. Rebels with a lost cause. Perhaps under different circumstances this could have been their salvation. Perhaps if Veryx was not able to see souls and spot groups easily they would have continued their plans in secret. Perhaps if the reapers they arrested earlier hadn't talked there would have been no search. Perhaps..

When he got back to the palace, he found his squad waiting for him. All five of them bowed as the ex-guide walked up to them. With a nod and a gesture, they stood up and followed him inside. The throne room was lit brightly, and Grim was holding a short audience to hear the requests of the general elites. Upon seeing Veryx, he rose from his throne, brushed the talking elite aside, and grinned. The return of his husband was a good excuse as any to cancel the audience and focus on more urgent matters. As if knowing, the reapers left, they'd get their orders when the time came. For now, it was not their business.

“My love, I have good news. Shall we discuss it somewhere more appropriately?” Veryx smiled lovingly as Grim threw his arm around the smaller man and led him back to the inner chambers of the palace, the small band of elites following closely.

As they stepped into the map littered chamber and the doors closed behind them, Veryx' demeanor changed. He broke free from Grim's grasp and scribbled something on one of the free papers of the table. Picking out two of his elites, he handed them the paper. “This is the information that was on the stolen maps I saw at the reaper den. Find out whom is responsible for this leaked information.”

The elites gave an acknowledging nod and headed out.

Grim frowned. “Damn traitors.”

Veryx simply nodded in agreement. “You were right, there is going to be an uprising if we do not halt it.” He said, his words trailing off into thought.

Grim raised a brow. “Sounds like you have a plan.”

Did he ever. A plan that would both excite and annoy his counterpart. “Yes. We shall need patience, though. The groups are only now organising, and are spread too thin to find and apprehend. In several days they will gather again to discuss. I want elites standing by at the rim, ready to strike when they are not suspecting.”

The reaper hybrid pulled out one of the maps and started marking down positions. Mainly the primary reaper den and possible other sites for gatherings.

Grim quickly joined in to mark the locations where several groups of elites could be stationed where it would not arouse suspicion, as well as vantage points to spot fleeing reapers.

“I do hate waiting." The reaper lord remarked, sneering in annoyance.

Veryx laughed as he stood on his tippy-toes to kiss his husband. “Patience, my Lord. I never said we need every reaper alive.” A big grin spread across Grim's face.

There could be no finer invitation.

The figure began to approach her. It's face was distorted in the darkness. It's breath released a thick fog. It's body twisted in the shadows that followed it. This being deeply disturbed the young wolf, and in fear she began to run away.
