1. friends for 5 minutes.

My new "friend" hadn't lasted too long. she came over for the first time today, and wasn't too eager to stay. she was now shouting at my, as I tried to run after her. "shhh!" I said, stopping. "my dad's trying to work! don't yell!". she stopped, looking tired. "whats wrong with my pet?" I asked, but I had heard the answer all to many times. "pet?!?" she hissed. "that's no pet! and you're a witch!" I sighed, this always happens. "how long till your dad picks you up?" I asked, hoping it was soon. "not until three, and that's quite far from now." she had blonde, chin length hair that naturally curled into perfect ringlets. "just don't tell anyone, please." I begged, for not even my parents knew about this "pet". "oh don't worry, I don't think anyone would believe me." she responded, out of breath. now, you would think I would learn, that is, learn to stop showing people my "pet", but my parents always told me honesty was the key to making friends. I think maybe I took it too far. I watched as the bird flew off into the woods. "see, he's gone! now can we be friends?" I shifted, staring down at my blue mary jane shoes. "i don't think my parents would like me playing with you." the other girl looked down at her own shoes, a pair of green flats. "aw, come on Kayla, please?" she simply shook her head, then sat down on the swingset my parents bought me a few years ago. |
