Prompt; ╚══════════════╝ ❝ Ever since he was young, Portal was always obsessed with caterpillars. He loved all kinds of them, from those that are fuzzy to ones that even look spiky. There is one quality Portal looked up to that those "Wiggle worms" possessed. The ability to change into something beautiful. Portal can heavily relate, since he was always bullied for being so different. Even his family looked down at him for being so different. Why? He always acted different. He expressed his feelings differently. He dressed differently. The bullies thought THAT was a good enough excuse to bully him heavily. When it came to his family, he grew up in a household where they want him to focus on more "suitable" jobs such as engineering, but Portal wanted to be an artist instead. The caterpillars taught him that being different is beautiful and unique, like a butterfly's wings. Portal knew deep down his heart was in a good place, and knew that the bullies were telling him false stories, and to follow his own path. Each day after school, he would practice his artwork. He would study anatomy, and develop his art style. It took him years to reach where his calling came. It was senior year, and Portal was working on a project in art class. The art teacher was blown away from his creativity, and asked him to join the annual school art exhibit. He nervously agreed, and worked on his portfolio to exhibit at the show, which is held at the end of the year. By the time the exhibit rolled around, he had his father help him make frames for his artwork. That was when he told him this: "It's hard to make a living on art, but you must not be afraid of failure." With that piece of advice, he was ready to tackle the show. The night of the show was a huge hit, especially with the art piece he presented. It was a comparison between his two drawings: One he made when he was very young, and one he made quite recently. He redrawn a picture of a monarch caterpillar, and it gathered the most attention. Portal was especially shocked when he took home first place, and a scholarship to an art school! Now, he finally let his heart take wing, and his personality and art flourished like a beautiful butterfly's first flight. He was able to get his artwork into many museums across the world, and was able to have a stable income based off of artwork. The best lessons come from nature, and it was the caterpillar that showed him this valuable lesson: ❞

What are the Ocularium?:
These beasts are primal in nature. They come straight from ancient times, and seem to be pulled straight from a nightmare. Their bodies are stocky and heavily built, covered in a thick, rough coat. Their walk on four limbs, with two smaller, flexible limbs behind their front legs. These are arms, complete with perfectly functioning hands. Their front legs have five digits. Four toes and a crude thumb used for increased grip when climbing in rough terrain. The hind legs only have three, large toes. The weirdest part of them, even more-so than their double set of additional limbs, is their tails. They have a long, flexible tail that ends in what appears to be a hand. Though, in this hand, it a massive eyeball. The hand rotates 360º, able to twist and turn to see all round it. And this is actually how they see. No one really knows where they get this eye, as they are not born with it. Though, the species as a whole are born completely blind. Most of the time, their parents will weave bandages to cover their young's eyes, which match the color of their tail-eye. It never blinks. It sees all. Quetzotalus #005

What are Quetzotalus?:
Quetzolatus are a specialized species of raptor. They are mostly bird-like, though possess some feline qualities. Their heads, for instance, are very similar to cheetahs, and they have a long, flexible tail. Most of their bodies are covered in a plush, silken fur, with feathers sprouting out along their spines, legs, and tail. Their bones are light and hollow, though are relatively strong despite this. Quetzotalus are strong fliers, as well. Their broad wings also act as forelimbs, small dexterous hands attached to them. They use these to crawl along the forest floors, grip to limbs, sometimes climb, and hold onto prey. Their legs are strong, their feet having three toes each. Two of the toes are shorter, with smaller talons for gripping. The third is a large, sharp talon used for delivering devastating kicks. These raptors live mostly in forests and jungles, and generally reach a maximum height of 6 feet at the top of their heads. Some, however, never grow much larger than their juvenile stage. Quetzotalus males and females are virtually indistinguishable. The only difference between the two is the amount of feathers on their heads. Males have an additional crest on their heads. He's very wise and is viewed as kind of River Guardian to a small village, he dose have a temper and cand get angered if those from their do not heed his warnings and they get hurt though he's also the one who's most likely to save them, when he's not walking along the river he's napping in his shrine with his mate Delora. Though she can irritate him sometimes he put's up with her cause he truly dose love her and will protect her with his life. |

Hell Dogs
Kennel 2 As the crate was unloaded before a small crowd, in awe of her glistening coat, the receptionist split a path to the door to set forms in the small plastic holder attached to the kennel. 'Alright folks, this lady just... Well she was just brought in, relinquished by her owner. Uh... I'd say stay away from that... mouth on it's chest uh... Please submit your forms... I'd like this one to... find a home quickly...' He hurried back through the door, which shut loudly behind him as if pulled, though he never touched it. The canid in the kennel approached the bars, tail swishing heavily, eyes pushing through the gaps to get a closer look. Some tendrils on her neck reached out to touch someone nearby.  Traits- German shepherd base, white fur, pink nose, stumpy back legs, fluffy tendrils, living tendrils w/eyes, no eyes on face, stitched closed mouth, chest mouth

She loves to make others smile, be it by saying her favorite word, giving them a peak on the cheek or just overall acting silly. She dose this because he just hates seeing other sad and it makes her sad too, so she dose whatever she must to try and bring their smile back. This can be a bit annoying to some but you'll either have to learn to get use to it/accept it as part of who she is or you'll see something that will break even the coldest heart if you yell at her, her crying/apologizing. She'll cry so much and so hard that it can even bring other to tears or make THEM apologize but she quickly comes back to her cheery self. She also can be a bit oblivious at times if she doesn't know what's going on or being said. |
