a knife from mother addie - connected with bravery

The treasure of bravery is a very small knife with serrated blade. The knife is extremely clean, and seems to be taken care of with pride. On the handle, there's a carving that crudely reads 'i lov my mommi' from when Dawn first had the knife, when she was very...VERY young. She always saw Addie as the bravest individual of her family, always going head-first into danger without worry about what could happen. Dawn's always wanted to be like that, and before she left on a journey of her own, Addie armed her with one of the only things she knew how to fight with.

Dawn's knife used to be one of Addie's knives, though it now has been broken on the front to make it serrated, and therefor more deadly to enemies. The rest of her family is somewhat worried about Dawn having that when she's wandering out on her own. Especially Naomi, but Dawn's gotten to the point where if they doubt her, she just promises them that she'll hide it away where it can't be used against her, and that she'll be safe. That calms them down most times.


a potion from father castiel - connected with understanding

The treasure of understanding is a potion that has a generous amount of healing potion inside of it. The healing potion has a tag connected to it that reads 'for your journey into the world, for you and others' signed by her father. Castiel was always one of the people in Dawn's life that made her remember to not only care for the family, but also herself and others. With the silence, Dawn learned that sometimes, understanding is found just by listening, and by staying silent in moments where it might seem strange.

The potion also works as a sleeping medication, and in tiny doses, will make Dawn feel calm and soft, able to fall asleep easier. Sometimes, she compares the feeling of being able to sleep to the feeling of being comforted by her father's silence and his embrace when she was being snuggled as a smaller child. She hopes that the potion will help her remember her father when she's out in the world. Castiel knows that Dawn knows the recipe for the potion, and it's one of the ways he knows that the potion bottle will never run dry.


a bow and arrow from mother naomi - connected with morality

The treasure of Morality is a large archery bow, and a singular arrow for the bow with a large feather trailing behind it, and the front being pointed in a sharp heart. It seems to be easy to shoot, with training bolts and other things attached to it that help the user. Naomi is the reason that Dawn truly knows the meaning of right and wrong. Even if she sometimes was the reason that she didn't have as much fun with Addie than she could have, she knows it was for the best.

Naomi taught Dawn the meaning of self-consciousness without self-hatred. She learned that just because you need to hold yourself accountable to your mistakes and need to know when your mind is in the wrong place, doesn't mean that you're a horrible person just for making a mistake. The bow and arrow only has one arrow, both as a reminder, and as a setback. The bow is not to be used for injuring others, and is instead used to keep Dawn's mind sharp while she's away from home. Naomi knows Dawn won't ever use it to harm others.


a flower from brother ryland - connected with creativity

The treasure of creativity, a flamboyant wooden flower painted in oranges and blues. with a place to put a real flower so that it can smell all the same while still lasting forever. this treasure was made by both Ryland and Dawn before she left on her adventure and to her new home where she hoped to be educated in a manner that would help her family. Ryland had first cried when he found out that Dawn was leaving, worried about her and wanting to make sure she was safe. Dawn assured him that she would write home, if only just for him.

Ryland had let creativity flow from Dawn, and now the wooden flower that could hold the smells of the world inside would help preserve the creativity. Along with scents, Dawn carried a packet of parchment and a small writing tool inside, knowing that when she'd leave and come to her new homes on her adventures, she'd want to tell Ryland all about it. She'd want to tell Ryland all the secrets she had, all the friends she made, everything. Because she knew that Ryland would always accept her, forever.


a necklace from adoptive uncle figure jesse - connected with ambition

The treasure of ambition, the final treasure so far, and the one connected to the most shaky of topics. Ambition. The treasure is a necklace with a large moon charm on it, and engraved in the charm is the word 'progress'. Jesse was a figure that Dawn never expected to come into her life. A teacher, a friend, and someone to take care of him while her family is away. Not an adoptive father by any means, but an adoptive uncle. And Dawn would never feel the same if he was out of her life again.

Jesse was the one who allowed her to go to education, telling her that in his home town there was a great place to learn, and a place where all children are accepted. He told the great things that Dawn could do with the education that could be provided, and Dawn couldn't help but smile at the ideas that came to her. The necklace reminds her of why she left, to make things better for her family. But sometimes, ambition carves the worst villains out of it's power. Most hope that Dawn isn't next.

She'd even hide it from her brother. This would make her upset, sure, but she knew what needed to be done both for her safety and her birth family's safety, even if it's hard.

She still has her friends, but instead of them trying to destroy the world under their iron paws, they end up being more like an edgy teenager gang that doesn't do any real harm to anyone until they're a lot older and join some kind of mafia organization. This universe leads to possibilities of family reuniting, but the possibility is also there that the family will eventually become nothing more than the items they left behind. And while it is sad to think about, sometimes in the world- that's just how it happens. Dawn would always love them of course, even if she never really knew them as much as she wanted to before she was removed.
