 User: Sinful_Lies Name: Tuncay (Turkish name meaning 'bronze moon') Gender: Male  Short story [532/1000 words]: A loud bang echoes throughout the once silent skies catching your attention, a bright flash following soon after. Surprisingly, fear never crosses your mind, just curiosity. What was that? Who was that? Where did it come from? Before you realize it you start to wander towards where the bright light had landed, it seemed to be close to you. As you rise over the sand dune, slipping as the sun set and it became harder to see, at the top you look down. A crater sits between your dune and the next, in the middle of it is a bright light. Was this what crashed? Did this cause all of that noise? You run down the hill. Well more like you tumbled down, the sand slipping underneath your feet making it hard to get traction. As you come to a stop at the edge of the crater reality seems to set in. What are you doing, this is how every character in a horror movie dies. As you begin to back up and leave the area the bright light starts to move. Terror seizes you and keeps you planted in your current spot. As you make a closer inspection of the light you see what looks to be some kinda creature in the midst of it. No, there is no way, it was your imagination planning tricks on you. Shaking your head you try to reason with yourself, but something in you believes that it is a living thing. As you stand there shell shocked the creature turns towards you and begins to make its way in your direction. Finally you realize the situation you had gotten yourself into. You turn and flee back up the sand dune, unable to see. As you make it to the top, breathing heavily, you look behind you, but can’t see that light. Suddenly your engulfed by the light. Whipping your head around you see the creature right in front of you. Finally you are able to make out what this things is, actually you have no idea what this thing is. As you look into its eyes you feel yourself calm down. “I am sorry to scare you little one,” It speaks to you with a foreign accent. “I am Tuncay, Guardian of the Moons.” You had heard of this legend before, back during your childhood. Your mother would always read you this book about mythical Gods, Goddesses, and Guardians, but you always took it with a grain of salt. She was right, if only you had listened to her. You stare at the creature, Tuncay, in wonder and amazement. He steps towards you, pressing his nose against your forehead. A peace you hadn’t felt since the passing of your mother washes over you. “Thank you,” You whisper to the Guardian. “Thank you for loving her.” A tear slips down your check as you step back. Tuncay begins to disappear. “Of course my son.” He whispers right before slipping out of existence in our human plain. Looking up towards the night sky you let the words you had been keeping in fall from your parted lips. “I love you to the moon and back moma.”  Credit to Skwigler and Animal At Heart for helping proof read and spell check |
