A Tracker Dog that can work both during the day and during the night, though it's true purpose isn't actually known as the creators never meant the tell.

What you believe to be its purpose: i belive its purpose is to work on night missons tracking down burgalars and criminals who hide within the trees waiting to attack, based on its glowy feature i think he will work the best in the night.

Read the first page of the Tracker Dog species here, and it'll be clear to you what you have to do.
But I'll be nice and explain. Each Tracker Dog has its own purpose, which is either tracking down criminals, searching for hidding goods or simply assisting any law enforcer. The colors on this dog don't hint towards any clear purpose or terrain it works best on, so it's up to you to make one up that fits within the purpose of the species.

Reason you want it: Because, not only do I love tracker dogs and I'm hunting for one I like, but I don't have one. Plus, this tracker dogs has all of my favorite colors. I also like the mystery behind it. Plus, I'm already thinking of a good story to go with him.
What you believe to be its purpose: This Tracker Dog was created so that, it can not only hunt at night, but in the day. At night, the red markings across his body light up as a dim red glow, alerting it's master that it's on the trail and it's not letting it up. In the daytime, this tracker dog is excellent at keeping to the shadows, sorting through the scents until it finally captures the scent its looking for. This dog is awake 24/7 and on the job. He doesn't require sleep and only a tiny amount of food can keep him going forever. He finds drinks around the area as he hunts his prey. He's stiff and silent when the innocent pet him or speak to him, but when he spots his prey, he takes off. He was designed to be able to memorize scents and to memorize the area. This dog knows all the slips and turns and hidden passageways and he also knows where to speak to a few other tracker dogs if inside information is needed. No criminal can hide from him. But we must not forget the important detail. This Tracker Dog doesn't age. Dating back to when Moses came down from Mt. Sininai with the 10 Commandments.
Crimes Solved:He found the kidnapper and murderer of 54 children and 13 woman
He solved the case of the Black Death and he found the murderer
He found the Queens missing crown
He solved the case of the Egyptian Pharaohs tome raider
He hunted down nearly 120 minor criminals
He alerted the authorities when the Shadow Parade, or the boycott consisting of over 300 people got too violent with each other
Crimes Unsolved: The murderer that killed his creator remains unseen
