Story:
This might just be a bit brief because I need to hurry up and get home. D:

The dark streets, the empty alleyways.
As I wandered amongst these newfound surroundings fear crept through every fiber of my being.
I discovered, the world outside those walls was not as pleasurable as it appeared to be.
I walked endlessly, for miles and miles until my feet hurt so much I had to stop, until my lungs pumped so quickly I fell to the ground with a hefty THUMP.
I took deep breaths, pacing myself and keeping a sweet children's lullaby in my head to calm my anxious nerves.
Eventually I caught my breath and moved on,
walking,
walking,
walking...

Soon enough I stopped upon what seemed to be a small discarded box.
Inside there were soft black rags, tattered and torn but still very inviting.
I found myself asleep in that box in five seconds flat, funny how I keep forgetting how I fall asleep...

When I opened my fractured eyes again I gazed upon a wonderful room.
Well, the walls, carpet, floor, furniture, everything was pretty...
Pretty....
Black.

Yeah.
Black.

Anyways, I hopped out of the box and pawed around for awhile, moving cautiously in the new home.
Before too long a kind looking girl with rainbow eyes and short black hair came into the room and embraced my entire frame.
"I'm so glad, so glad you're alright... You really worried me there, you stupid cat!"
She started to tear up. I rubbed up against her and dried her face with my tail.
I tilted my head to the right and gave her cheek a quick lick, and her smile.

Her smile was all I needed.

What will you do with it: I will love her and pamper her with the rest of my characters, I will get plenty of art of her and she will be very loved. :3

It means Duel, reprisenting it's two mouthes.

Personality
Duellum finds it hard to trust others because of his aweful past, where they would jab him with needls and shock him, hitting him and giving him little food and water, he learned to fight and finally escaping he is careful about who he now trusts as anyone could turn him in, back to that horrible place.

He is quite smart, causing him to be able to stay away from the Scientists however having beein kept in a lab all his life he dosn't know how to react to the world around him having never experienced it before, causing him to come across as aggressive.

Despite this he can be affectionate if given the chance however it isn't often that anyone notices, through his lack of socialization he dosn't know how to show affection and it causes him to feel locked in...

Story
The breeze sliced through Duellum's fur like icicles and the rain was even feircer plastering his fur down against his body, turning his fur so dark it was almost black, the stripes were slightly darker but otherwise blended with his fur, he just wanted to curl up and sleep, his body ached and small cuts lined his body but he knew what would happen if he gave in now they would catch him, he felt the fur on his throat flare out as a result and he heard the faint barking of canines that slowly gained on him.

He felt his throat vibrate in a snarl at the thought of the oldest species of his face and the urge overhwelmed him to turn and fight however he wasn't stupid, he knew he wouldn't be able to fight them all, not in his weakened state, he looked around him, they would find him, he didn't know where to go next.

Suddenly a girl stepped into his past and he stopped blinking in suprise, his fur flared out again and he showed his teeth, his tail whipped around in defense but the girl didn't seem afrait, cocking her head to the side she studied him curiously,
"You escaped. Good job" She said with a thin smile.
Duellum narrowed his double pupil eyes in suspicion, he was perplexed, usually at the sight of him humans would scream and run, well except the ones back at the horrible place he ran from.

"I know where you came form, a lab, somewhere there was pain in every breath" The girl wend on with a grimce and suddenly to large purple wings unfurled from behind her, causing Duellum to hiss and retreat a few stepps in suprise, this girl seemed to be altered,
"At the same place those scientists throught it would be funny to see what would happen if they combined the DNA of a dragon with a human" She told him spreading her arms, "And guess what happened"

Duellum narrowed his eyes, he could see the shadows in the girls eyes and knew she was telling the truth, she came from the same place as him, taking a step forward he inspected her wings with interest, touching them delicetly with his nose and feeling the smooth membrane quiver at his touch.

In return he allowed her to touch his tail, running her hands gently over his fur, carefully avoiding the toxic spines,
"I know you can't trust me, and I can't trust you. But they're getting closer to both of us" She said eventually, stepping backwards into the shadows as the barking of dogs became louder and closer.

Duellum turned his head toward the sound, glancing back at the girl he saw she was quickly dissapearing into the forest her wings folding neatly back into her soaked clothes and without a sound, he folllowed,
"My name is Nix by the way" She murmmerd over her shoulder as she lead the way to saftey...
