Short Story: (The following is an exchange between another Piccolo dragon I own, and Adryen) Adryen hobbled down the hall of Joker’s apartment slowly, favoring his left-front paw. Dekoda, another of Joker’s Piccolo dragons, walked up to him, green eyes filled to the brim with concern.

“What’s wrong, Adryen?” He asked worriedly.

“Nothing,” Adryen said hurried, standing up straight and trying to hide the wince, “Just walking back to bed. I’m a little tired.”

Dekoda’s eyes narrowed as he studied his green counterpart, “Don’t lie,” He deadpanned, “You fell down the stairs didn’t you?”

Adryen sighed. He was currently been fostered by Joker, Dekoda’s owner, and he was having a terribly difficult time getting adjusted. Going from feral to tame was no easy thing for Adryen. The stairs, however, had been the hardest to adjust to. Joker’s apartment was a loft, and the stairs were acting as an obstacle that Adryen just couldn’t fight against.

Slowly, Adryen nodded to Dekoda, who’s eyes went from hard to soft in a millisecond, “You don’t have to suffer alone. I understand that it is very hard to get used to life as a ‘pet’. Remember, though, Jack, Pietro, and I are here for you! No matter what.”

Slowly, Adryen nodded, staring at Dekoda with a lost expression. Slowly, Dekoda walked forward to Adryen and slid under him. Being only a little larger than Pietro, Adryen was very small compared to Dekoda. Holding him carefully, Dekoda walked into Joker’s room where the beds where and set Adryen down. Curling up against him, Dekoda nuzzled his friend, “Sleep well.”

why do you want to adopt?: I want to adopt this Dmd because I think that both the design and the idea of the desk muncher is very cute. However, I have never found a design I really liked until now. I think this design for this Dmd is cute, fun, and the type of design I would imagine to hide in and around my desk.

Personality: Pigma is quiet and elusive. He isn't often seen and he liked to keep it that way. He has a habit of chewing on pencils until they are filed to a point. Pigma tries to act aloof most of the time, but the human who's desk he lives in often brings out a very caring side of him.
what will you use this Dmd for? He will probably be used as my trade guardian, a character to color, a character to rp (if allowed), and, of course, a character in a few stories.
Will you return this Dmd if you don´t want them? Yes, but I don't often return my characters.

Charles Gomez sat in front of his math homework, face in hands, as he tried to remember what his teacher had said about multiplying fractions. The sound of chewing brought him out of his thoughts and he turned on his chair, expecting to see the family dog gnawing his shoes. To his surprise, however, the dog was not their, his door was still shut, but the chewing noise continued. He turned the chair back to his desk, attempting to ignore the sudden crunching sound, and focus on his math homework.

Suddenly recalling what the teacher had said, Charles looked around for his pencil. His gaze went from his work sheet, up diagonally to wear part of his pencil was sticking out from under a piece of discarded paper. The white, thin sheet rustled a bit and, hesitantly, Charles picked up the piece of paper, expecting a mouse or a rat. Instead, a black, emaciated creature, no larger than a computer mouse, with one eye larger than the other, spines going down its back, horns, and a spaded tail was laying down and gnawing at his pencil. The creatures legs looked significantly longer than his arms, and was lacking a lower jaw. Charles just stared at the little creature. Creepiness aside, the creature looked almost... cute?

The little demon, whom Charles decided to name Pigma, suddenly realized he was being watched and glanced up, wrapping his exceedingly long tongue around the pencil and growling. Charles was dumbfounded. He had just found a little demon, said demon was chewing on his pencil, and he just figured out the answer to his math problem. Charles went for another pencil, and Pigma watched in fascination, seemingly saying, “More?” As Charles finished his homework, he made a move to set the pencil down, but suddenly found Pigma was on top of he pencil, and staring at him. The eyes were a little disconcerting, but Charles attempted to ignore this fact as Pigma inspected him. With movements faster than a mouse, Pigma skittered down the pencil and to the window, staring longingly at the school, then back at Charles, then back at the school.

Realization and guilt hit Charles at the same time as he recalled that he had emptied his desk contents into his backpack that day before going home. Pigma was probably a resident of his desk, and had suffered from being moved from his home without his consent.

Charles groaned and moved closer to the little demon, “Hey, school isn’t until monday, so we can’t go back there. But you can stay here until then!”

Pigma, almost as though he understood Charles, nodded and went back to the boy’s desk, then stared at him expectantly. Charles sprung into action, going to his closet and getting a shoe box, a few pieces of fabric he had lying around, a thimble of water, and a fresh pencil, then presented the makeshift home to Pigma. The creature crawled in, curled up, and began to gnaw on the new pencil.

Charles let out a sigh as he collapsed onto his bed, feeling a little scared. It wasn’t the fact that he was taking care of a demon, it was that he knew nothing about Pigma. The creature looked emaciated, did that mean it ate something other than pencils? Why did the chew the pencils in the first place? Was it because they were bored, or because it sharpened their teeth, the same way cats used a scratching post? What did the creature drink? Would it be to cold or to warm? Would it die during the night?

All the questions that bombarded Charles’ mind did little to sooth his fear, but it helped to get him tired. Within the hour, Charles was fast asleep.


The rest of the weekend helped Charles learn a lot about Pigma, and answered a lot of his questions. Pigma’s dietary needs were simple, he ate erasers. He chewed pencils because they sharpened and cleaned his teeth. Pigma drank water, but could opt for pen ink, which acted like alcohol on his body. Pigma was sensitive to cold weather, but Charles learned that purely by chance when he went in the freezer while Pigma was perched on his shoulder. The creature began to shiver and nestle into his neck for warmth.

By the end of the weekend, Charles began to wish he could keep Pigma, but knew the creature wanted to go home. On monday morning, Charles opened his school bag, and fished out Pigma, before setting him down inside his desk. The demon immediately disappeared into the mess that had quickly regrown when Charles dumped his backpack’s contents into the desk.

For the rest of the year, Charles didn’t see Pigma, the creature was all but gone. Finally, on the last day of class, Charles gathered all of his things and dumped them in the backpack. If Pigma was gone, maybe he found a better desk to live in.

That night, Charles grabbed a pencil and paper and began to draw pigma, the first few attempts quickly discarded. As Charles reached a level of frustration he never knew he had, the sound of chewing reached his ears.

“Bruno! What have I told you about eating my shoes!” Charles barked, whipping around to face the dog. However, the dog wasn’t there. The chewing continued as Charles worked. Suddenly, a thought dawned on him and he looked under all the pieces of paper he had thrown away. However, no pencil-chewing demonling was there. Charles was close to tears. He missed Pigma so much! The creature had only spent a weekend with him, but their bond had become so close!

Finally, throwing the last piece of paper out and turning off the light, Charles went to bed, thoughts flying through his mind. As the boy turned on his side, he saw the shoe box that had served as Pigma’s room for the few night he had been there. Getting up in spite of himself, Charles made a move to toss it in the garbage when a loud crunch echoed in his room. Eyes wide, Charles threw off the lid of the box to find a little, dark demon, no larger than a computer mouse, chewing on a pencil.

“Pigma?” Charles said hesitantly. The little creature looked up and chirped, the same chirp Pigma used whenever he wanted to say, “I’m here!” Charles felt tears well up in his eyes as he plucked the little demon from his comfortable place in the shoebox and hugged him.

“Oh Pigma! I thought I had lost you!” Pigma chirped and yipped, then settled against Charles‘ shoulder as the boy picked up the shoebox and set it on his dresser, grabbed an eraser, a thimble of water, and a new pencil and placed it in Pigma’s box. The creature purred in content as Charles got into bed, smiling to himself.

“I think SS Demon would fit his species name perfectly. All they eat is school supplies.” That night, all Charles dreamt about was Pigma, and all Pigma dreamt about were pencils..... and Charles, of course.

The next morning, Pigma awoke to a drawing of himself sleeping in his shoebox-bed. Pigma smiled and crawled out of his shoebox and onto Charles’ bed, where the boy was asleep with a pencil and drawing pad in his hand. Pigma nestled himself into Charles’ chest and, when the boy awoke, he found Pigma asleep, the pencil in his mouth, and his tongue wrapped firmly around it.
