I didn't want to. Honestly, what kind of mother would give up her only daughter, one of the most beautiful of them all, to the world, abandoning her to all kinds of danger and trouble. But i had no choice.

I now sit on the large, flat rock that stares at the forest below, the forest where the reflection wolves life. Ever since i left my daughter at the small pond, i had always watched my daughter, looking on as she slowly grew from a pup to a beautiful teen. I could tell she was anxious to find me, sometimes catching a whiff of me, the faint, vague, scent that she remembers. I wish she knew what i had done for her, giving her up to save her life. For Avann was too cruel to let her live.

He had wanted a son, an heir to his "throne". We were outcasts, relying on ourselves, with no home pack to turn to when we were injured. We both loved the freedom of our own choices, our own mistakes. We were young, and we were in love. I soon realized i was having a pup. He was gleeful; smiling at me every chance he got, asking me how it was going: it was too obvious he was excited. But when the pup finally came, and he knew it was a girl, that was when he snapped. All the love i had for him was lost, for he had threatened to kill the pup if i had not abandoned her.

I sulked on the rock, watching her play with the other pups. I could tell as she stuck her nose high in the air that she caught my smell once more.
Maybe i should let her find me......No. Then Avann would find her and kill us both. I sighed as i padded off, hiding in the cover of the forest once more.

They knocked her out and after she awoke she was by a pond. She became hungry so she tried to hunt. Instantly a fish popped right out of the water and told her what her powers were for and why.
