Diablo Hounds
based on this drawing by Larkspur1678
WIP
A little update/sneak preview on my species Diablo Hounds. I still need to color in a lot of the extras, add a background, palate, head/eye/pawpad views, etc. but the base lines and extra lines, along with some of the color layers are done. This guy, Bones, who will be the mascot is almost done too. I may change the horn color and add an accessory or two, but he's mainly done and features the base options of: Mane, Back fluff, Mini horns, Forked Tongue, X pupil, Goat ears, and Furry Devil tail. There are A LOT of options for these guys, so be on the look out for more previews as I work on the lines. Also, I will be holding an artist search once I finish coloring the extras and add a palate, so be on the lookout for that. It will be up in a couple of hours most likely. However, please note that due to the amount of extras and overlapping of certain extras, these are more complicated lines to work with. On the example above I had to erase part of the base lines and mane lines+color to make it work with the options I had. I will require you to use overlapping extras on one of your entries to show you can work with these, as well as have you make one with extras you draw on yourself. |

Adopt a Kupla!● Grand opening!
based on this drawing by Petscop
Hello and welcome to the Kupla adoption center! Before going to adopt a kupla, read through the entire post, if you have any questions contact us! We are happy to help you with anything, we don't bite! A Kupla is a amphibious creature with a almost squid like tail. They are friendly for the most part, though if you get one angry they shoot a poison like ink that can seriously injure you. Despite that scary fact, they are very social and love being around other Kuplas, their groups are called pods. They normally live near oceans, but have the power to life just about anywhere, eat anything, and go without food and water for months. They strive best when neat their pod, and when they have someone to make a bond with. -Do not spam. it clogs up the thread. this includes double-posting (COPPAs included, but there are exceptions), pointless messages, and of course, chatting. we understand if your computer is glitchy and your message is posted too many times. it happens to all of us. -Respect the staff. were people too, not machines. mods can't fix your problem instantly, and artists can't make a hundred Kuplas a day. -Don't be rude! even if the person is being rude, there is no reason to start an argument, we will ban (or temp-ban) anybody who does this too much, and we hope you won't be the one doing it. -Do customs based off other designs. we won't do a Kupla with the design of a Kiamara your trying for! please respect this rule, it's a needed one. -You may only try out for two Kuplas at a time. trying out for too many can result in a strike, but not usually a ban. sometimes a temp-ban can come from this. -Don't ask to be part of the staff. we have all we need, and if we want you, we'll ask you. -Your only allowed to have 2 customs, though you can adopt out a old one to get a new one. -Customs are open only on the weekends. -Artists are allowed 4 customs. -Be fair when judging competitions. -Give COPPAs a chance! (their forms come up slower) -No FCFS. -No making edits unless given permission. Please read the rules before ordering!
None so far! Let's keep it this way! Lines made by the one and only, ¢ΑΗ∂У☆НЄΑЯТЅ |

Lenarion Adoptions [Open!]
|
Metallic Dragon @ Wed Dec 24, 2014 5:58 pm
General Disposition Please note that the majority of this information applies to wild lenarions rather than the domesticated breed we have at the centre Wild adult lenarions in general are extremely vicious, though they are known to shy away from most human contact. They will bite if provoked and wild adults should never be approached for any reason. When raised with human contact, it is possible to tame and handle a lenarion. They are still known to lash out on occasion even when hand-raised, however, and should only be cared for by experienced and mature handlers. Baby lenarions tend to sleep a lot and are known to be extremely curious toward humans. Not nearly as dangerous as adults, baby lenarions will approach a human if they fall asleep close to where a baby is hidden. These young lenarions can be captured and tamed if the proper equipment is used, though capturing the young in the wild can be extremely dangerous if their mother returns during capture. Despite their ferocious disposition, lenarions can and do experience a wide range of emotions and those that are raised properly will generally form a strong bond with their human handlers. Size and weight Adult female lenarions generally range anywhere between 3-5 feet long from beak to tail-tip and weigh between 110-170 lbs. Adult male lenarions are slightly larger and usually range between 6-8 feet long and weigh between 190-220 lbs. A newly hatched joey is only about 6 inches long and only weighs about 1-2 pounds. A lenarion egg is usually around the same length and weight as the joey that hatches from it. Communication Lenarions generally communicate with a mixture of sharp barking (similar to that of a cheetah) and clicking noises. Young lenarions occasionally make a higher pitched chirping sound when in distress, generally to alert their mother or father that they are in danger. Life Span Lenarions are considered an adult at the age of four years. The prime breeding age is between five years and twenty years. Since female lenarions can only raise one clutch of eggs at a time, they need this wide age range in order to continue the species. If a female lays her first clutch at four years of age, she’ll be able to have as many as five healthy litters. After twenty years, many females become infertile or their eggs are laid with soft shells that bear weak and unhealthy joeys. A male lenarion generally lives approximately twenty-five to thirty years old in the wild due to their tendency to squabble with each other over the females. Many males get seriously injured in these squabbles and die from infection or the inability to hunt. Females in the wild can and usually do live longer than males, generally reaching the age of thirty to thirty-five. At this age they generally begin to slow down significantly and cannot hunt alone as effectively, putting them at risk for starvation and eventually death. Captive lenarions as a whole usually live longer than wild lenarions, making it to the ripe old age of fourty to fourty-five. Feeding and Hunting habits Lenarions are carnivorous and therefore only eat raw meat. Their diet generally consists of a mixture of small to medium sized herbivores and omnivores within their habitat. For this reason, the can be a nuisance to farmers nearby lenarion territories as they are known to prey on sheep, goats, young cattle, and even chickens. Luckily, most of the time lenarions are solo hunters and can be relocated or destroyed should they cause too much damage. A lenarion hunt is generally fast-paced and violent. Since they cannot stalk their prey the way most predators would, they have to be agile and light on their feet when they hunt. Usually they track the herds from a distance, watching and waiting until they find an ideal moment to strike. Once they’ve picked out their prey, they take off at an astonishing speed, leaping forward at up to 75MPH and clearing distances of up to 30-40 feet per bound. Unlike cheetahs that cannot maintain their top speed for long, a lenarion generally maintains their speed for approximately two minutes, giving them ample time to approach and overtake their prey. Upon catching up, the lenarion will attempt to trip their prey, generally by moving close beside them and lashing at their legs with its thick tail. Once the prey stumbles, the lenarion goes in for the kill. Mating and Young Rearing A lenarion is considered a mature adult at the age of four years old. By this time they have become large and efficient enough hunters and no longer need any help from their mother to care for themselves. At this age, the mother usually chases them from her territory, forcing them to fend for themselves. This is also the age where males generally set off in search of a mate while the females search for a safe territory in which to raise their own young. In general, males are willing to travel in pairs or groups of three. This allows them a higher rate of survival if they’re not the best hunters while also allowing them to move about their habitat freely in search of a lone female. Males are known to fight viciously once a mature female is discovered, the one that wins takes the female as his mate should she accept him. Much like a platypus, lenarions lay eggs. Once the female has laid the eggs and incubation begins, the male stands by to watch over her. He still only hunts for himself, however, so the pair will take turns incubating the eggs in order to fulfill their own needs. Incubation lasts approximately ninety days. At the end of this period, the joeys hatch using their pincers to pierce the shell and break free. At this time, they will immediately need to be cleaned and fed. This duty, of course, belongs solely to the new mother. For the first month of their lives, the joeys will need to be fed every half hour so their mother will be unable to leave the nest. The father will, at this point, spend the majority of his time hunting in order to feed his mate and himself. At the age of two months old, the joeys can go a few hours between feeding so the parents will resume hunting for themselves while switching off watching over their joeys. By the age of four months old, the joeys will begin eating small chunks of regurgitated meat. The heavier food causes them to sleep for long periods of time while digesting, allowing both parents to leave the nest and tend to their own needs. When they are six months old, the joeys are finally large and energetic enough to leave the nest for the first time. Both parents stay close by to keep watch over their young as the joeys are known to take off and explore, often putting themselves in danger due to their intense curiosity of everything around them. This is a dangerous time for the joeys since they are still very young and vulnerable making them easy targets for predators. For the next several months, they play with their siblings outside, strengthening their hind legs and instinctively practicing their hunting skills by chasing and tripping one another. When they are a year old, the father will generally begin to grow slightly distant toward his offspring and their mother, beginning to disappear for longer periods of time as he begins to search for other adult males passing through the territory. When he finds one or two others, he will leave his offspring and mate behind so he can begin the process over again and pass on his genes elsewhere. At this time, the female will begin taking her joeys with her to observe her as she hunts. It does not take long for them to begin stalking rabbits and other small prey, hopping furiously after the small animals with their small clawed fingers reaching and pincers clicking in excitement. As the young lenarions continue to grow, they eventually begin picking their own prey out of the herds and attempt to take it down on their own. Many times for the first couple of years they will find themselves too small or weak to take down the larger prey. It’s not until they’re three years and six months old that they will have gained enough muscle mass and overall size to bring down prey large enough to fill their stomachs. After another six months of hunting with their mother, the males will generally leave on their own while the mother usually has to chase the females out of the territory herself. The mother will then go through a recuperation period of two months before she will be able to mate again. |

How Do I Adopt?: In order to adopt a lenarion, just scroll down the page and check which lenarions are currently available. There is a base form and each lenarion will generally have a couple of added requirements. Just fill out the application before the end date and wait for the competition to be judged! The competitions themselves can be one of many different types so even if you're not good at drawing or writing, you can still adopt! Just find a competition that fits what you feel capable of and go for it! The adoptions themselves will always be free! No payment required other than your time/effort put into filling out the application! You can also request a custom when they're open, but be aware that not every person who submits a form will be chosen. |

Breeding Breeding is only able to be done between a male and female couple. After they breed, an artist will color in the kit/s and post them when they are "born". These kits will grow into children in 2 weeks, and will then grow into a full-grown adult 2 weeks later [at the total age of one month old]. After that, the Kittyhawk will remain at the adult stage, and will never die. To request a breeding to take place, go to this thread: Breeding thread Breeding Rules - To be bred, the two Kittyhawks must both be adults. - The two Kittyhawks that were bred have to wait until the kit/s from their last litter are grown into children to breed again. - A female Kittyhawk can only mother 6 litters in her lifetime, so as not to cause overpopulation. - A male Kittyhawk can only father 10 litters in his lifetime, so as not to cause overpopulation. - Genders of the kit/s will be revealed at one week of age. - There are only 3 slots per week, so act fast! |

You can breed a mare and a brute to get a baby added to your family. Getting customs is free, and so is breeding. Your pets need to be 10+ days old to breed. Habitats Habitats can save your creatures from growing. It can also freeze them, so you don't have to feed and play with them. Incubators Pony Puppies always come in eggs of different shapes and sizes. So the incubator helps them grow. Playing You NEED to play with your pony puppy once every real life month to keep it happy. Feeding You NEED to feed your pony puppy once every real life month, too, so it won't starve to death and or run off. It happens when you don't play with it. You'll get a message if your pony puppy runs off or dies. Lifespans It happens randomly. Sometimes they're born with Eternal Health, so they can never die. That's it. You can post now! |

Here at cailynmae's Pixelated Peculiarities, you can adopt unique pixel creatures." cailynmae: "Pay no attention to him. I do all the real work around here. Anyway, I'm cailynmae, and I make the Pixelated Peculiarites." Charlie: "I do some work too! I show the visitors around!" cailynmae: "Oh, all right. Why don't you show them around while I make some PPs?" Charlie: "Okay! Here, first let's have a look at the rules..."
Charlie: "Oh, you don't know what understand what the last two rules mean? Here, take a look at this..." To find a PP(Pixelated Peculiarity) to adopt, simply click on one of the images under 'Colored in versions of this drawing'. If the text at the top says 'Open', then you may either fill out a form to enter the raffle for the PP, or autobuy it. If the text at the top says 'Closed', then someone has adopted the PP. Autobuying If you don't want to wait for a raffle to end, you may autobuy the PP. This means that you pay a certain amount of pets to me to end the raffle and automatically adopt the pet. Keep in mind that you can only autobuy once every two weeks, to keep things fair. Some PP cannot be autobought, and some can only be bought. The cost of autobuysing a PP depends on its tier. Tiers are based on the difficulty it took to make the PP. Here is a list of the tiers and their prices:
Charlie: "There are some species that often come up in adoptions. Here's a list of the most common:"
Charlie: "At the shop you can buy strange little items, which let you do strange things with your PPs. Payment is in pets, and we do not accept rats, ponies, chickens, or horses." Animation Ticket Allows you to animate one PP. Animations are predetermined for each PP. Cost: One wishlist uncommon. |

Redwood Valley Equestrian Centre - Cattle Adopts
based on this drawing by Oddly Shaded
Welcome | Information | Members & Other | Disciplines Suggestions Thread | Archive | Discussion Thread | Showing Thread | Main Thread Welcome to Redwood Valley Equestrian Centre! RVEC is a realistic equestrian sim where you can buy, train, breed, and compete with your own horses. Competition victors will be decided by statistics, attitudes, and responsible breeding; if you play your cards right, you could get several bonus points that could easily turn the tide of a show. You can also create breeders clubs, barn associations, and rescue organizations -- the choice is yours! Whatever your equestrian passion, you'll be sure to find something you love here! We now have opened our official Cattle Adopts which you can buy and compete in the western event of cutting! Each cow has a different difficulty level in which you can compete against. If your horse is competing in a cutting competition, he or she will need cattle to cut. You can adopt some on your own and breed them if you want to expand your herd that way but this won't be a full-out sim -- it's more of a really extreme accessory. You must have at least two cattle for your horse to compete, although you may rent two or three for 200c/cow. Cattle will be available to rent from RVEC, so it isn't necessary to buy your own! Unless you own at least ten, some cattle will be drawn from RVEC's stock to determine which cattle you receive. You will always be given at least one of your own cattle to choose from, and the remaining four will be random. From these five, you can choose which three you would like to actually cut in the competition. I won't go into detail here because that makes it too easy, but intelligence of the horse and difficulty of the cattle are strongly related in cutting competitions. You don't always want a super easy or super difficult bovine. Rules
- You may not claim another user's cows as your own. - You must be polite and respectful to all users at all times. - You may not ask for customs; these are given out as prizes of top-level competitions only. - All colors are to be natural cattle colors. - All cattle created are the property of this sim and, if neglected or otherwise mistreated, may be taken away and readopted. Don't worry -- this will only be the case if a user quits or has been banned from the sim. - Cattle will always be first come first served unless on a special occasion. - Adopts will cost 500c each unless otherwise stated. - Contact SydneyandStorm for information on renting cattle. - Breedings will not be available. Do not ask. - All adopts are reserved for members of RVEC. please join to adopt. Posting is OPEN - Adopts will be released shortly. |

Adoption guidelines
There's different ways to adopt a Kiwas. There need to be one with an 'Adopt me' sign on it; if it doesn't have one it have already found a home! When you find one, make sure to read the adoption requirements, the form you need to fill in may differ from adoption to adoption and it's important that you fill it in properly. Make sure you read the artist's rules as well; some may not allow edits and some may not like changes to the base codes! When you have finished the form, post it and wait for the artist to judge the competition after the ending date. Please be patient as some competitions may take longer to judge than others! Another way to get a Kiwas is through different events, but you can read about that further down. |

Specie information
Male; buck - female; doe Bucks are based on kirins, does are based on unicorns. Being a modern subspecie of the mythological kirins and unicorns the Kiwas have taken a curious appearance of what look like a smaller, chubby deer with a long tail. Kiwas grow to somewhere between 50cm/19in and 1m/40in They have arched backs, very much like the muntjac deer, their legs are strong and they have three hoofed toes instead of two or one, like regular deer or equines, simply because it seem to help them in different terrains. The Kiwas have big ears and eyes to easier notice predators, while their eye-sight isn’t the best they do have excellent hearing and rely on it more than any other sense they have. With their small nose they have a better sense of smell on short distances. Kiwas have long lashes to keep dust and the sun out of their eyes and with their jaws they have the ability to crush nuts and roots which is a part of their diet. Most Kiwas have horns, not all of them do, but it’s not uncommon to see bucks with horns growing from the back of their head or as a “mohawk” along their nose, as for does it’s mostly common to see them with one horn in the middle of the forehead or none at all; it seems like the gene to grow more than one horn doesn’t pass to female individuals and is displayed as a masculine trait only. If a male have a mohawk of horns growing on his nose it’s unlikely that they are more than three, despite how hard the horns are it may make them more vulnerable due to the placement and with age they might run into complications like broken nose, difficulties breathing or horns breaking. The Kiwas also have a rather fuzzy butt and may bristle it when they’re annoyed, startled or afraid, pretty much the same with the fur around their neck; it’s a bit longer and may react to strong emotions. Aside from the horns it’s also common for the males to have a beard, feathering on the back of their legs as well as scales on the front of their legs. The scales is a trait that have been passed down from their kirin genes and is of use during mating season when the bucks fight each other to display strength; the scales grow harder over the years as they mature and are used as a protection from bites, kicks and any other possibilities where they could get injured. Of course, there are several other unique traits a Kiwas can have depending on what line they’re from and what sort of territory they’re from. Some lines have made them grow stronger tails and a third eyelid so they can swim, other lines have made it possible for them to grow thicker fur during winter to protect themselves. When looking at the anatomy of a Kiwas a bit deeper you may notice they have teeth rather similar to a horse, unlike a deer they do have upper front teeth and their jaw and molars are strong so they can crush the nuts and roots some of their diet consists of. With their deep chest they have grown a bigger heart and big lungs which help them when they’re climbing on higher altitudes, making it possible for them to breather normally without getting exhausted. For some Kiwas it’s also a help when they swim and dive; bigger lungs and a bigger heart have made it possible for them to handle the pressure under water and they can hold their breaths longer. The Kiwas used to roam in all sort of places in the world; from forests to mountains to beaches and plains. But due to greedy humans they became extinct on the main land, it was believed that their horns, hair and bones had healing abilities, but in reality the Kiwas have no magical abilities at all and the hunting that happened was all for nothing really, as neither of the parts believed to be magical added anything to the medicine they were put into. What humans doesn’t know is that there are Kiwas alive on an island far from civilisation and humans, here they live at peace without being disturbed by the changes of the human world. Kiwas are herd animals and quite social at that, they thrive in company and have ranks to make the herd really work. Different individuals have different functions in the herd and they all pull some of the weight to make things go around, to protect their lands and to make sure their close ones are healthy. Despite being divided into different herds in different areas most of the Kiwas won’t judge someone’s background, if they were born in a different herd they will be treated like everyone else, although there might be those who decide to pick on them for not being of the “pure” herd lines. Most herds also believe and live after different deities, believing that the herds was created by them and that the Queen and General of each herd is what they call “true children” of these deities, meaning that they’re thought to be of related blood and thus have the right to the throne. |
