      I fell in love with these lines OwO
      The species in and of itself is just so beautiful and very well planned out.
      There's no way I'll get selected out of the many wonderful artists trying out, but I had to try.
      Also, my first time doing line edits on someone else's lineart. Yay? I don't think it turned out too bad, I definitely see room for improvement though. I really like how the fluff in and around the ears turned out.
      Anyway, if I were to become a Paeus artist, I'd love to be a nursery artist. So, I will be creating one more design, and then "breeding" that one and this one, creating a hypothetical baby paeus.

      Info about me I guess.. Uhh, I'm a girl, in highschool, with plenty of time on my hands to make designs. I enjoy video games such as Legend of Zelda, Pokemon, Minecraft, and Final Fantasy. I like to draw, and am still getting used to drawing on a tablet, so designing these would be really great for practicing.

      Anyway, here, have a super floof bab.

Species Details:

Name: The Chraits


Genetics:

The main feature of all Chraits is that they have wings and multi-colored fur. The wings are not always feathered, but can also be bat-like wings or in some rare cases will become fins. To allow flight, they have hollow bones in the majority of their body. The frailness of these limbs makes them easy prey.

Not all Chraits have horns, this seems to be a new adaptation. This most likely occurred because of the need for protection. The Chraits are small creatures, the biggest measuring about 4 ft from nose to tail. This makes them easy prey to the Sroix; the Chraits biggest predator.

As the Chraits grow so do their wing spans. Along with bigger wings their fur also begins to blend into one color.
The lifespan of a Chraits seems to be about 30 years, surprisingly long for such small animals. Chraits mating season seems to take place in late fall. Their gestation is around 10 months and the litter is usually only of one kit. Occasionally twins will be born. When twins are born they are always fraternal, but they usually have a strange marking on their chest. When standing side by side with their twin this symbol makes a "yin-yang effect" where the markings create a picture of some kind or another. The twins fur patterns are also switched around, but consist of the same coloration.

Lifestyle:

Although the Chrait have wings, they cannot fly until around age 10 when their wings are large enough to support their bodies.
Depending on their adaptations, some Chraits love to swim while others avoid water like the plague. Some enjoy climbing trees and rocks in order to climb up high and survey the areas around them.

Chrait kits seem to love playing hide-and-seek. This helps them learn to hide from their natural enemies and sneak around their habitats. "Play fighting" doesn't seem to be popular amongst these peaceful animals.

The alpha of the Chrait's herd seems to be determined by a test of wits rather than fighting. A female from the herd hides a "treasure" (usually a small sparkling stone pieces of garbage) and then the "contestants" try and seek out the treasure while avoiding obstacles created by others in the herd. This behavior suggests very advanced brains.

The Chraits create their shelter from anything they find lying around the area. Sticks, rocks, trash; all of this is used to make a large hut that the herd sleeps in. Most herds have around 9-12 members.
