on another note, maybe if your lines get too wobbly or messy? use the smoothing tool, I use it at at least 70% and it helps a lot to line
its like, ya know, my wingman.
if you base your designs off something like food, that would be interesting because I like food
as you grow confident, perhaps start doing more complex designs, and really make it unique.
for line edits, I duplicate the original lines, unview the original, make sure the copy is visible and I use a different layer so if I mess up I don't exactly die

@shooting star,, ooo smoothing tool? that'll help a lot since my finger/hand gets shakey when I'm nervous!
also I'll base one loosely off of tacos possibly because why not heck.
also for the lines I add a new layer for edits and look at the way the original lineart is drawn that way I could ATTEMPT flawless lines, but apparently that doesn't work for me.

I like this one a lot and I would totally try out for it! ^^ What really hits me is the neatness of the design and edits. I think that neatness seems to be a big factor in these kinds of competitions, so this is pretty much spot-on for me. C: And the expression is lovely!

A comment is that on the left side of the Kalon's image where the hair hangs down, it looks kind of lumpy where the hair curves, to me. I think it would make the curve look more confident in stroke if you either accentuated the hair curve (though it might make the hair curlier), or make it smoother in the bend. This is just my opinion, though, since I don't usually see that kind of hair bend.
Also, when I look closely at the deep gray that makes up a lot of the body color, there seems to be another color mixed in. I would personally leave it all as one solid color to make it neater, but again, whatever floats your boat!

@satyn ; thank you very much for the critique! I fixed it a little, so hopefully it looks better now! Sorry, this is my first time using my tablet with my laptop, so I knew there would probably be a bit of shakiness or conflict with the lines, but hopefully I caught all of it!

And yeah, there are two colors there, and they were supposed to blend a bit more seamlessly, but I didn't quite get the desired effect. If I have the time, I'll go back and fix that up, too!

I super love this babe! I would take them as is in a heartbeat. <3

As for suggestions..
Perhaps her hair needs more spikes or more lines in the curves? As is it kind of gives me the feeling this kalon uses a LOT of hair gel. Personally I like the different fades of gray matches very well with the white fades in the purple. And maybe if you feel like making the tail more fluffy looking add onto the fur detail layer. Just a suggestion. C;
