Entry #1 - Forest Themed

Nyctimix, birdlike creatures, are one of the several other species that share the LoC's home planet. They are omnivorous creatures, preferring to eat meat, but can survive of vegetation if prey is unavailable. They typically live in groups with up to 5 members, hunting as individuals or as a pack.
Their main source of protein is the elusive Amani, which is very difficult for even lions to catch, however, Nyctimix have several adaptations that enable them to catch their quick footed prey. One is their skull, which is much like an owls in that it can pinpoint where prey is, another adaptation is their long tails that enable Nyctimix to turn just as quickly as an Amani. Finally, Nyctimix are covered in super fine, soft feathers making them practically silent when in flight.
Nyctimix are also slightly larger than the typical LoC cub, and, because of their size and preference to eat meat, they will often prey upon lion cubs when given the chance. However, despite their tendency to eat baby lions, Nyctimix can also become prey themselves if not careful. Lions are able to take down one of these creatures if they can get it out of the air, but this can prove dangerous. Nyctimix have 8 razor sharp claws and a beak to match, they also have spines on their feathers they can use to defend themselves if caught. The fact that they live in groups is also a risk a lion has to take should they decide to hunt Nyctimix, as group members will defend one another.
Despite the risks of approaching one. Lions are able to tame these creatures, usually by providing them with a steady supply of food. Some lions however, such as those with Psychic abilities or the power of Love, can actually "brainwash" these bird in a way to make them loyal servants of lions. LoCs have found many uses for these creatures, though the birds' main functions are to be messengers. Nyctimix are rather intelligent creatures and can be trained to carry messages between groups of lions, typically during times of war when orders need to be given to the front lines.

Extra Facts: The Nyctimix plumage is another adaptation. Their underbellies resemble the planet's starry sky, while their backs resemble the terrain below, thus making them nearly impossible to spot when viewed from below or above.
A flaw is that, like birds on earth, their bones are less dense than other animals, so they can be susceptible to injury.
Its nickname is Galen's War Bird / War Birds (or at least thats what i want it to be)

Anyway, the darker blue is some lapis trim on the mechanical wings and antenna.
The dark gold yellow stuff on the paw and tail represents a mechanical replacement, which are movable. The eyes are real, though they look glass. Like steam googles!

I really love horses and know quite a lot coat colours.i'm also able to use genetics if needed and i can do breedings with the use of genetics as wel. at the moment I work as an artist by the Norrsken horses and i really enjoy it, and i really enjoy making adoptables. So I decided to try to become an artist at another horse adoptable centre and stumbled upon this species. the lines are just amazing and i really love the info about this species and how much efford is put in it.There is a stamp in my signature if you want to see the species.I made this myself stamp by the way. I really enjoy colouring horses and I have enough time to create a few every week.
