    What would you contribute to the staff team ;; i'll be an active and fair member of the staff, and i'm always happy to help out when there's conflict! i hope to post a few designs a week! i like to think i bring a more lighthearted side to most teams i have been a part of, but i work hard at the same time. i believe there should be a balance between a strict set of rules and a little more of an understanding between staff and species members, as not every situation is equal, and i bring a mindset that i tend to be a bit more merciful when the situation would call for it. i do my best to help out wherever i'm needed, regardless of the role.
    What are some of your strengths and weaknesses ;; i struggle a lot with airbrush designs and merle, but other than that i'm okay! i'm working on getting better at both! i tend to excel in the simpler designs, and i absolutely love to do spots. i have also been a member of the wild mountain equids species for several years, so i like to think i would be okay with brindling as a main part of the species is "quipping" (essentially another form of brindling).
    What is a situation where you would be biased ;; i believe i am actually very good at being unbiased, and i always do my best to be a mediator both online and offline. i do, however, struggle a bit when it comes to competitions where either art or writing is accepted. being more of a writer than an artist, i tend to side more with the written forms before the art forms.
    Any additional information / other ;; I do struggle with phenotypes and genotypes, but i've been working to get better. i may need help with some designs here and there (especially at the start if i am hired!) but i tend to be a quick learner!

      just commenting with some tips / suggestions, I'm doing it with every entry so it isn't meant to single anyone out, just helping ^^
      my first tip would be to work on your application a bit more- some of the questions are not answered fully such as the contributing question (all staff are expected to be active and fair), the strengths question (only weaknesses are mentioned) and the biased question (no situation is mention where you would be biased, and it is impossible for someone to not be biased- thats why the team is collaborative and helps each other out, and by knowing situations you would be biased in we can help prevent bias in the future)
      otherwise your application looks good; those were just some comments I had about it since given as it is now, it isn't considered complete and it's hard to hire someone if we don't know enough about them c'x

      onto the designs themselves, they all look good and I like your work; they're fine accuracy and color wise and I do really like them, you're a great designer, especially for someone with no past experience!
      my only suggestions would be to try and fidget with the shading / hightlighting more so that they stand out ^^ the shading / highlighting is supposed to help the design and not hinder it, and on some parts it doesn't appear to be visible- I can't see the shading on the second design or highlighting on the first so that's moreso what I'm referring to :" > you can change the settings and colors to make it show out and help the design more, so I would suggest maybe messing with that a bit!

      otherwise I would love to see some designs youre more comfortable with since I would assume you'd be doing them more often than airbrushing and merle, so I will definitely be keepin an eye out! keep up the good work and I hope to see more :" >

Hello hello. ^^

I was bullied into doing actual work so here I am, doing it. But your designs are absolutely beautiful, and Dep and I feel you have a good amount of potential. I was looking through your latest entries and my only comment would be try to make them more realistic.

For example, a good reference for that hound darling would be this if you're going for roaning or perhaps this if you're going for ticking.

My advice is reference like your life depends on it. It really helps telling if a coat color is possible or not. A good resource we recommend to all of our artists is this place here as it goes pretty in depth in all the possible coat types and the corresponding eye and leather colors.

We really do hope to see more from you, so feel free to reach out to either Dep or I should you want information on if a coat color is possible or not or just want to run something by us. ^^

    Simple black boy for the first one, simple to play with and get used to the lines.

    Started as black with irish spotting, I believe it has swung more towards black piebald.

Do you have past experience ;; Do to being COPPA only a little while back I was never really in a community as anything besides a member. Thought I'm trying to work on that now that I can get to know more people and such.
Some of your favorite past designs ;; One ; During my Brindle Addiction.-Two ; My Homosexual Dog Couple-Three ; My first OC on the site.
What would you contribute to the staff team ;; I'm a nice person who is pretty spunky. I would love to help people in staff if they ever needed it and I can do some nice designs. I'm working on it and getting pretty good with it. I'm also trying to learn Genotypes, yet it's pretty tricky thought I'm working on it. I like to help people tak away from their work, when there is a lot.
What are some of your strengths and weaknesses ;; My Strengths are pretty hard to think of for me, still I have a few. I like to challenge myself trying to do new things everyday. I know how to do some designs really well, while others I would need just a little while to work on them. I'm a known as a really happen person and I have a hip happy personality. Now a few of my weaknesses. I do have issues with getting stressed out easy, yet I'm just normally really stressed out for more reasons, yet do to somethings I won't be about to do things because it just gets to you. I'm also really bad with Merles. I do think it's do to the fact of the way you have to do them, it's just harder for me to do thank most. I'm currently working on messing with tickings, yet most are currently not easy for me to do, yet working on it. I most of the time need help thinking of coat ideas, yet I normal go look them up, yet I might need some help with them.
What is a situation where you would be biased ;; Judging, normally with very few people is hard for me. Or when there are people that I know well in the comp. Those are a few things I would need help with really.
Any additional information / other ;; I can't do Phenotypes very well and I unfortunately can't do Genetics at all. I'm working on learning both and I would be open to help! If you have any questions feel free to PM me here or DM me on Discord!!

      hey hey fam ^^

      I really like your application and designs, so honestly I don't have too much to comment- I think my requests/tips for you would be to do more designs that you're comfortable with so the staff can see your normal range of work, since I'd assume you wouldn't be doing merles that often c'x
      my tip for you would be to just experiment with the tools on oekaki a little bit more- change around the settings on things, surprisingly the watercolor brush does some crazy stuff when you're changing things like blending or opacity. I actually disliked the watercolor brush for quite some time until I decided to just try it out with weird settings, so that would be my tip ^^
      otherwise I like what you have, and if you're easily stressed out we could talk about a ghost artist position- that way you don't have the design a week limit and you can still design as much you want, but not be upheld to the same standard and kind of be more doing your own thing and not worrying about that ^^
      I'll definitely keep an eye out and would love to see more designs that you're comfortable with so we can gauge your abilities better, if you ever need help we're here to lend a hand be it giving suggestions on designs or checking them for you for accuracy on the coat or colors~ otherwise well done on the merle and I hope to see more from you! :" >

Thanks Fam! As you can see I'm trash.

I did three more designs and doing another simple one tomorrow. I also have remembered how much I hate circles and ovals. Thought I also remembered how much I love the airbrush tool. So much fun when doing sables, still it looks better without Shading, I don't why it just does. Thought thanks for the advice. I will take it into account. Also might try doing a brindle at some point, thought from the phone it might not look to good, so just be prepared for some more entries.

Turns out I did three entries today. Oops. I'm done for a while thought. My right hand doesn't pop anymore so it starts to hurt really fast. I think they all look good, well besides my merle, which is trash.

    What would you contribute to the staff team ;; I'll always be there to help out if necessary! I'm not big on genotypes, but I am trying to learn more about it. If one of the artists are busy with real life things, then I can try to create some designs that are adoptable.
    What are some of your strengths and weaknesses ;; Its really hard for me to think of my strengths. I'll try to learn more about dog markings so that I can try to recreate them on my entries. I do think I have a lot of weaknesses that I can name. For starters, I can give up quite easily when it comes to drawing with a mouse though I'll try my best. In the future, I might get a pad to draw on so that I won't have to use my mouse anymore, just writing my user on this was kind of difficult.
    What is a situation where you would be biased ;; I think I do have some difficulty with judging. When there's only about a handful of people, that's when its the hardest since I have hard time choosing which one to pick and also when there's none I really like.
    Any additional information / other ;; As I mentioned above, I draw with a mouse, so it might be hard to create some designs.

Hello. ^^

Dep and I have been going through and offering critique to all of the entries so you guys know what we're looking for and have a chance to try and do it.

For you I'd suggest trying to go for more realistic coat colors. A good reference we suggest for all of our artists is this one here. It's really detailed, and shows a wide range of possible colors. It also shows you the respective eye and leather colors for every coat.

We'd love to see more from you, and perhaps even a few designs you may struggle with, just to get a good idea of what you're going to produce for us. ^^ Also, don't be afraid to use tools you normally won't. Many of us found that the watercolor tool is a good friend for natural designs, when we normally wouldn't touch it.

Also, for weaknesses perhaps name a few coat colors you struggle with so, should we hire you, we know what not to ask of you. All around I'd suggest just making a few entries to try and further show your range of skills. Don't let that mouse stop you. ^^ I went years with a mouse so I believe you can do it, all it takes is a bit of patience.

I just realized my thing didn't link, so here it is here. ^^

As for the designs, I suggest looking back through the previous Sweetnose adopts. A good tool for most of them is the watercolor and airbrush, alongside the normal pen and pencil tools. A good way to practice it to try and copy what was done on them. I don't have any specific pointers, since that's how I learned, but if you wanted you could probably ask another artist on the discord.
