i just picked a lineart and colored it it was lazy so i may have colored outside the lines lol

CHARACTER PLANNING


Concept:
Blinded soldier with specialty in rock turned scholar (because of blinding); Takes a lot of pride in catching birds/bats because she is blind now and it seems like a nearly impossible task.
Name Ideas:
Fleau or Seuche
Mask Ideas:
Animal Fur Hood | A fur hood that covers from the back of the muzzle to the shoulders with antlers attached. It can be either open at the neck or laced. Obsidian and possibly black and/or white feathers hang from antlers on the hood. The whole where the eye is should be blackened with soot. Tips of antlers might also me blackened. If tied, or laced at neck, strings hang down to the chest, ending with more obsidian/feathers.
Dove/Raven Blindfold | Skeleton of a dove of raven, possibly a magpie, with the feathers still attached that covers the eyes. Skull facing down on the forehead, wings over eyes and wrapped around cheek area like a Roman-style helmet.
Bat Skeleton | Worn in a sort of crown style, either a black or white skeleton, held together by sap if white, or dried lava if black.

*A "rogue" who joined with the Yami for adventure and the chance to be aggressive.
*Was a soldier. Blinded in a fight, forced to take on a more "spiritual" position, such as scholar or healer.
*Chose to be a scholar because she wasn't the type to care for others.
*Covers old soldier scars with black soot.
*Wears mostly bird-related skeletons/skulls on head because being blind, and having strength in the rock element makes bird kills for her very difficult.
*However, being blinded has allowed her to be more sensitive to vibrations of movement on rocky surfaces, making it easier for her detect big animals or animals with hooves. It's sort of a second way to "see," though not very reliable, and completely useless on soft ground like dirt, mud, and sand.

Personality: If you call her shy she will pound you into the ground. She is aggressive and easily angered, she wont stand and watch as her pack gets hurt or killed. She is brave and loyal to friends. She is a good snoop and an awesome hunter. She wont listen to what others tell her to do. She hates being told no and will get mad if she is.
History: She generally never talks about it but she will tell you this much,
When Natue was born she was born into a small litter of two, Her brother Nacta was taken as a bet. Her parents where not loyal to her pack and later on got killed. Her brother Necta as mentioned earlier was taken as a winning side to a bet. Her parents had bet the first one to kill off and become leader of their pack was to keep the pup. The other W-B won and took her brother away from her. Her father was killed while he was trying to kill the leader. Her mother exiled into the ocean. Natue had run away from her pack a little while later but returned only to be welcomed and made at home. Natue has always been very secretive about her past while she was alone.

Other: One of her eyes is a very pale blue. She exposed it to the sun to much and it went blind. She can only see with one eye.

Personality:

A playful pup, Vassar has retained this characteristic. He likes to trick other animals, and he especially enjoys leading them into verbal or mental traps. He's never been evil, he's just inclined to be a trifle thoughtless. For example, while he's having fun, he can't imagine why anyone else isn't having fun. Unless, of course, they tell him. Bluntly.

Associating with his pack-mates has left him even more unfeeling. But he still does not enjoy killing other wolves. Wounding and maiming, on the other hand, are perfectly acceptable goals for him. He still won't harm his family, however. He is a loyal servant to Kuro, even if he does speak with a slightly mocking tone of voice. In fact, it's always difficult to tell if he's being serious or telling the truth, from the sardonic the way he speaks and the sinister expressions he makes.

He is turned off by excessive blood-lust. However, a rough and tumble game of tag or hide and seek that gets a little bitey is just his thing. It's not a conscious decision on his part, but he is always waiting in the wings whenever there's an opening in the ranks above him. That is, he's always interested in advancing his place in the pack, but it's more instinctive than thoughtful plotting.

Brief (or not) History:

Born in the the Hakari Tribe, Vassar was considered to be a promising young wolf. It was true, his parents admitted, he had a strong sense of mishief, but there was no real harm in him. Pushing him ever further was another young puppy named Ralshan, who was disciplined and serious. Ralshan was Vassar's primary competitor and self-appointed nemesis. As they grew older, their competition increased, and their rivalry for a coveted high-ranking warrior position troubled the tribe. Ralshan, the first to undergo the exams for the position, ran away after they were completed, running straight into Vassar, who was practicing and studying some distance from the noisy pack life. There Ralshan admitted to his life-long rival that he had failed, meaning Vassar would win by default. Ralshan announced his intention of joining the Yami Tribe.

Realizing the danger posed to his family and friends by having Ralshan turn traitor, Vassar challenged him to a battle. Fueled by the grudges and latent hatred of years, both wolves reached a point of no return. Vassar, the greater warrior, killed Ralshan in the heat of battle. But when he returned to his tribe with his story, no wolf would believe him. No one believed Ralshan would turn against them. Rather, they thought it more likely that the mischievious Vassar had turned to evil, and chased him out of the tribe. Only Vassar's immediate family took the part of their son and member, including his younger sister Berenice. Taking Ralshan's skull as a trophy, Vassar wore it until he reached the Yami Tribe's land, where he was welcomed as a traitor and a warrior. He still harbors fond feelings towards his sister, though.

While not truly evil in any sense of the word, Vassar's relaxed attitude and forgiving spirit allowed him to live in harmony with his new packmates. He harbors enough of a grudge against his old pack-mates to take them on in battle, but he does not kill with pleasure. The trophies on his wolf skull have meaning: they represent his swiftness and cleverness. Only a swift wolf could kill a bird, only a clever one could hunt the small animals who must live by their wits. He puts each tail he considers asthetically pleasing on the back of his wolf skull, creating a sort of multi-colored mane.

This is by far my favorite thing I have ever designed! I hope you like it.

this is oceana, shes for the competition, though i started out coloring her for fun... i didnt really pay attention to the writing, so i dont know if my changing the background/ numer of palettes disqualifies me, but i sure hope it doesnt! anyway, this was my first attempt at drawing an ocean... its up to you guys to decide if its any good! i must apologize for the fact that the ocean and the sand in the background are unfinished. my computer started glitching, and i thought it was safer to save now, than have it all destroyed! well, all comments and criticisim (dont be too mean) are appreciated!
