Personality: Evangeline has a wild spirit. She is stubborn, and the lab boys sometimes have a hard time getting her to comeplete her testing. She longs for her forest home and pack. She hates the cramped spaces and the dried pebbles they ae given to eat. She is extremely intelligent, and can solve puzzles and mazes faster than many of the other wolves. Evangeline misses the compay of other olves, but at the same time she distrusts the other ones at the lab, knowing the kind of experiments that have been done on them. She hates the humans and tries to stay as far away from them as possible. Her true self is kind and friendly, but it doesn't have much opportunity to show here.
History: Evangeline was born wild to a small wolf pack. She had three brothers and was very attached to her mother. It had been a sunny day, and the 1-year old wolf had decided to go hunting with her mom. Suddenly they were surrounded by humans. It was chaos. They tried to put a loop around her neck, but her mother bit the human's hand an he dropped the metal pole. The humans finally managed to seperate the two long enough, and Evangeline wa unceremoniously shoved into the back of a van and driven away to GEWBAH. In the prelimenary testing the scientists found that Evangeline was smart - more so than most of the other wolves they had. They took some of her DNA to analyze, and in the meanwhile had her doing tests and experiments. The first true experiment she underwent was Ear Enlargement. Some of the scientists thought that enlarging her ears would enhance her hearing. Her ears grew - but they wouldn't stop growing. They became too long to stay upright and began sagging down like a dog's. Now she has to have the ends trimmed every month, or else the weight becomes too painful for her ear structure to handle. The next experiment envolved echolocation, to enhance her visual and spatial perception. To tell if it had worked or not, they temporarily sewed her eyes shut. It was the same day as the PETA raid, though, and there wasn't time to reopen her eyes until a few weeks later. Although they could get her left eye open, they could no longer take the stitches out of her right eye, and she now has it closed permanently. While they were in the operating room doing this, one of the lab wolves escaped from their cage, one of the ones that PETA had tamperd with. The canine burst into the room, the lab boys on it's tail. Evangeline struggled to her paws in alarm, and before anyone could do anything the wolf was attacking her. They managed to pull it off of her and resecure him, but she had to have half of her tail amputated. It was several months before they tried anything on her besides tests. They had analyzed her DNA and compared it with the other wolves, but they hadn't found anything that might be a pointer to her intelligence. They decided to implant an artificial intelligence device in the back of her skull, to see if it could give them any clues. It didn't appear to have any effect; and the area were it was implanted started swelling up, so they had to remove the device before it became infected. They later implanted a sensor along her spinal cord, to try and gain insight to her intelligence from her neuron's and hormonal responses. She is luckier than many of the others, in the sense that she has spent more time testing than being experimented on, but she is still unhappy.
Notes: She shows a high intelligence capacity, and learns quickly. Analyzing her DNA revealed nothing. We must discover why she is so smart.
