My entry for the contest. Im sorry that the markings are slightly different on the bat, its had getting complex markings onto it xD

Personality:
Kato (Pronouced: K - toe) is a loud and somewhat playful wolf. He is, very boyish and loves to laugh, talk and have fun. Kato loves to be around people, and is a very skilled fighter but not hunter. His sense of smell is slightly less powerful then other wolves so he is more likely to get lost when out hunting if no-one is with him. Kato is one for having fun and living life to the full, no matter the concequences. However, he is a good leader and very kind to his friends, family and strangers. It takes alot to get him angry but he is always fair no matter how much he dislikes the other person. His bat form differs quite alot from his wolf form, but he can always be reconized because of the distinctive, razor-like marking on his wing.

History:

Kato:

I sniffed the ground and growled slightly, my sense of smell may not be that powerful but I can reconize that odour anywhere. Tracing the water with my paw, and smiled as it swirled franticaly around my claw. The water, like my history, was frantic and not worth describing. I tilted my head and smiled slightly before turning around and trekking my way up the steepest cliff around. It didnt take me long to reach the summit since I could swallow the ground quickly with my long legs. The cliff was around fithty feet high and covered with a thick, green brambles. I rolled my eyes as the brambles clung, desperatly, to my long-ish coat, I pulled away and padded to the ledge of the cliff. The view may not have been pretty but it was my favourite place, I would sit up there for hours on end just staring out to sea. I smiled but then frowned as my name was called, I raised a paw and turned my head to look behind me. I smiled and turned when I relised it was my good friend, Ajax, "hey," he whispered and stepped closer to him. "Whats up?" I asked tilting my head and thrusting my head slightly in the air, "the camp is under attack, Zephr has requested you come straight away." Part of me was desperate and worried as I head back to the camp at a brisk run but the other part was pleased that I had finally managed to prove to the alpha that I was worth keeping. At least that was what I thought...

"You want me too what?" I growled slightly looking my leader and fathe straight in the eye. "I want you to pup sit whilst we fight," he replied. I stared at my father blinking rapidly "why? Why dont you never let me fight? Or help the pack?" I growled stepping closer.
"Because, your useless," I growled and my older brother bounded in "dad! Come on your missing it." I growled deeper, my older brother was the apple of my parents eye. And although he was rubbish at everything, they still prefered him over me. "Fine, but this is the last time!" I growled as I walked towards the pups den. "I was the only one who was never allowed to fight, all my friends and family would fight when I was left babysitting pups. However, they did amuse me, watching them run around yapping at each other. I could hear the growls and howls of pain from the battle that was less then three-hundred yards away, and I placed my paws over my ears.

When the battle was over and we had won, I snuck out from the pups den and headed to the cliff. I growled deeply as I saw my father walk into his den, your useless! His words stuck in my mind as I fought my way through the brambles, I looked through the trees and spied a small pond enclosed with trees. I turned and skidded dow the hill and ran until I reached the pond. It had trees, long clumps of grass, a fish filled pond, and a long, river twisting its way down. All together it was the perfect training ground. And so, I began training. I would swim, fight and run for hours on end until I knew I would be able to fight. Soon, my muscles got larger, my claws and teeth got longer and my fighting tactics improved drastically. However, the sound of my fathers words still hung, like a grey cloud, over my head wherever I was. Soon, the battle, we all knew was coming, aproached us. It would be the battle to end all battles and the battle to set us free. As I approached the pack I knew that my return would bring suprise, for one: I was no longer weak, two: I had not been seen for over two months and three: I was ready to fight...

The opponents and walked over the hill and the battle had begun. I was ready to charge out into the field to begin, and end, the battle. Before my 'father' called me in.
"What are you doing?" he asked me as I watched the battle outside.
"Fighting, why?"
"No your not, your pupsitting," he replied. At the mention of this word I growled and my father took a step back.
"No, im not," I growled back, rather calmly. "Im fighting and there is nothing you can do to stop me," and with that I turned and ran out onto the battlefield. When it was over, I was covered with bloody cuts, bitemarks and scratches but I had done it, I had proved them wrong. When the dead was collecting and the injured treated, they announced the ones we had lost. My father and mother were two of them. I missed my mother, all the times whe she had conforted me with my worries, dreams and loves. She was like a father and mother rolled into one and I knew I would miss her more then anything. Over the course of roughly two weeks I was transformed from a lowly pup sitter into a beta. My brother had gone mad from the battle, and now all he wanted to do was fight. So they offered me the job of alpha...

Three years later...

Since the battle my life was once again peaceful, I would lounge around in the sun and by the lake. Watching the sun set and rise, training pups to become warriors and advancing the medical herbs. It had been three years since I was offered the job of alpha but I had said no. Running a pack was for someone with leadership, victory and fairness. I had non of those things. But, I was happy. The pups still amused me, the cliff was still there and this was my home.
