Orpheus
based on this drawing by apache~
Name: Orpheus, meaning darkness. The name comes from a character in Greek mythology, who charmed and tricked Hades into releasing him and his wife from hell. Gender: Male Age: He's about 7 years old, still very young, just about adolescent. Tribe: Yami Rank: Trainee Personality: Orpheus is a charmer of note. He is glib and dapper, handsome and proud, and as double-faced a creature as one could imagine. He holds himself in high esteem when it comes to the ladies, and is always filled with compliments and flirtation in their presence. To inferiors, he is cold and domineering, and to superiors, the picture of obedience and calm, powerful self-control. Yes, Orpheus has a different face for every wolf he may happen to meet. He is a trouble-maker, an inciter of drama and chaos. He loves nothing more than wreaking havoc. He is rather vain, and thinks himself a supreme specimen of a wolf. With a sharp tongue, a nasty streak and a whole lot of ambition, he is not a wolf that one would want to cross. Likes: Getting his way Intimidating others Attention Thunderstorms Being the centre of attention Dislikes: Being ignored Cold weather Having to eat birds (their little bones get stuck in his teeth) Being slighted or disrespected Main Element: Electricity. The scorching power and sharp lines are mirrored in his markings, and its frizzling intensity and quick bursts mirror his personality beautifully. Art of Your Wolf: This is my home Plotting Dastardly Deeds ![]() ![]() Brief (or not) History: Orpheus was born to the Yami tribe. His father was a low-ranking Molder, his mother a middle-ranking warrior. They were not particularly special wolves, and were killed in battle before Orpheus and his two siblings were a year old. This never worried the young wolf too much. He felt no need for his parents, and besides which, they had been dim and distant characters on the horizon. He was quite happy playing with his siblings. There was nothing he had needed his parents for. However, the Yami tribe only took the strongest of pups. Orpheus's litter had been a relatively poor one. As soon as the little male and his brother and sister turned five, they were put to the test. They were sent out on their own and given one goal: To survive. In the treacherous and dangerous Yami territory, this was far easier said than done. The pups were carried out into a desolate, barren corner and left to die. Orpheus couldn't understand what was happening to him. He could not recall having done anything wrong. He wondered why the pack hated him so much. Later, the pack's methods would make complete sense to him, but as a pup, he was bewildered, miserable and terrified. The volcanic rock shook and rumbled beneath him. His siblings cowered. He did not. He got it into his head that he would find the rest and beg forgiveness. He did not offer to bring his siblings along with him. He had always thought them far slower than he, and he wanted to move fast. So, with his tail clutched between his legs, he set off across the rocky, dead landscape in search of forgiveness. It took him three days to arrive back at the dens. He was found outside his parents' den dehydrated, thin and covered in a thick layer of ashy dust. The Yami pack found themselves in a bit of a conundrum. They had not intended the pup to survive. There was much debate, but finally it was decided that the little creature would be allowed to stay. And so he was reluctantly accepted back into Yami's ranks, to be trained and made one of them. His siblings were never found, neither dead nor alive. Of course, this isn't the way that Orpheus tells it. To hear him speak, one would gather that he had made it back to the caves in a whirlwind of fighting and daring acts. In his retelling, he boasts of all the monsters he killed trying to protect his less-than-adequate litter-mates; of cunning plans and feats so astonishing that the Yami tribe was afraid not to let him rejoin them. Being singled out as one out of his whole family inflated the pup's ego greatly, and as a result, he has a tendency to strut around the territory as if he has some great claim to it. Orpheus does, in fact, believe himself to be an intrinsic part of the pack. He believes that he has earned his place there, and anyone who is not second-generation Yami or his high superior is treated with less than full respect. Oh yes, he's growing up to be quite the character, is Orpheus. Perhaps he'll grow out of it when he gets a rank and discovers what real work actually is. Perhaps he will stay an obstinate beast forever. That's for the fates to now and you to find out, isn't it? Please check out my other image for the story of Orpheus's skull and an explanation of his totem object. |

Okay, well, I entered. I dunno what inspired me, but, well I designed this.. I think I might name her Bandit because of the blue mask like strip around her eyes. I think if I don't win, I might use her as a character of mine... Don't know where the gold glow came from but... *shrug* Just improving my skills I guess. Crit and other comments are welcome. |

Isnaroh Contest; Zephyr
based on this drawing by Tundra
Name:
Zephyr { means "the west wind" in Greek. } Age (at most 200 years): Fifty one years. Gender: Male Antler type: Moose Antlers. Marking Types: Fishing Cat, King Cheetah, and a tiny bit of Tiger (for the stripes on his paws and his muzzle.) Region: West Rank: Trainee. Parents: His mother is deceased, she was killed off by a Sorith. His father is still alive and well, at the age of 145 years. He's barely around anymore though, slowly leaving Zephyr to live on his own and learn to fend for himself. Personality: The first thing you would notice about Zephyr is his extreme shyness. Seriously, he gets great anxiety and nervousness when around large groups. Most of the time he avoids other Isnaroh's when he can, but it's not often. He also tends to be incredibly quiet, even around those that he knows quite well. He would probably never voluntarily approach someone unless he absolutely must. His self esteem is very low, and he doesn't think very highly of himself. Confidence is something that he is lacking in, and because of that he often seems to be very timid. He spooks easily, it's not all that difficult to get Zephyr frightened. Sometimes his own shadow manages to scare him. He has a tendency to forget things easily, thus he is scolded often when he happens to forget a task he was asked to do. Despite his forgetfulness, he is actually quite intelligent. He uses his intelligence to his advantage, using it to plot attacks and maneuver through sticky situations. While is is very speedy on his feet, Zephyr is also quick-witted. His mind works at an accelerated pace, and his reaction times are top notch. Since he is still rather young, he still keeps hold of his innocence. Whenever he does something wrong, it is always because he truly did not know it was the wrong thing to do. He's rather dependent on others, relying on them greatly to get things done and efficiently. Not may know it, but Zephyr has an artistic soul. He likes to draw shapes and figures in the sands of the West coastlines, and paint images on slabs of rock with paints made of berries and plants. He uses it as an outlet of emotion. Once you get to know him, he starts to lose his shyness, but still retains his quiet nature. He can be very affectionate to those that he knows well, as well as a loyal ally. Story: Zephyr was born on a bright morning full of glittering sunshine and not a single cloud in Anteer's red sky. Of course, it was almost always like that in the West, the days warm and temperate all year round. This day was special though, the day that Zephyr was born. On that day, the western winds were raging, sweeping things away into the vast lands of Anteer, never to be seen again. Now, those particular winds only ever got that strong when a special Isnaroh was born, and that was often a rare occasion. They say that Zephyr was touched by the western winds the day he was brought into Anteer, and that a piece of those winds lived on in his innocent soul, hence why he was named after the western wind. Those are just rumors that run through the pack on occasion though, especially on the date of Zephyr's birthday. Zephyr doesn't believe them one bit, to him, he's just plain old Zephyr who isn't all that extraordinary or special. {{ ... }} "Daddy! Won't you tell me about Momma? What was she like? I bet she was beautiful..." A young pup pleaded, a hopeful glimmer shined though his small and child like voice. The pup sat close by his father as they sat on the muddy lake shore. The sun shined down on the red water, making for a dazzling sight. "Zephyr, how many times do you have to ask me that?" The pup's father grumbled, obviously not willing to dig deep and share personal information with his son. The large Isnaroh sat up tall and proud, towering over his petite son, Zephyr. He was adorned with the markings of a King Cheetah, with blood red bursts of color seen occasionally on his pelt. His antlers were those of a moose, looking intimidating in the light of the setting blue sun. A stern look was upon his face, a slight frown visible on his muzzle. Soon it would be time for the two moons of Anteer to light up the night sky, and that was when danger was most high. "Pleeeease Daddy?" Zephyr begged, his teal blue eyes pleaded relentlessly. The small pup had jumped onto one of the large, alabaster white rocks nearby, his face only coming up to his father's chest. He pinned back his ears though and scooted back on the rock a bit, his eye's averted from his dad's direction. He had suddenly felt very shy around his father, clamping his mouth shut. "What's wrong Zephy?" His father asked, a hint of concern in his deep voice. He cocked one eyebrow at his son, who was acting a bit strange for no apparent reason at all. Zephyr said nothing, he just looked up at his father with a guilty in his eyes. "Zephyr, what's the matter?" His father inquired once more, his voice a bit more demanding this time. "I'm sorry Daddy! I didn't mean to make you mad!" Zephyr burst out, on the verge of small tears. His lower lip trembled a bit, his mouth curved into a tiny frown. His father sighed, before pulling his son closer to him with a powerful foreleg. "Zephyr, you didn't make me mad. It just...hurts my heart to talk about your mother. But I will tell you about her, it's about time you knew." His father explained in a gentle voice. Suddenly, the sad look upon Zephyr's face brightened up, as he gazed up at his father with dreamy eyes. "Really Daddy?" Zephyr asked, his voice full of wonder. "Yes Zephy, now listen up." The sun was setting by now, the sky painted with brilliant shades of purple. The young Zephyr jumped off of the rock he had been sitting on, and instead took a place right in front of his father. He had to lean his head back to see his father's spotted face, but he didn't mind in the least. "Aye, you were correct in thinking that your mother was beautiful. She had the markings of a Fishing Cat, and the fierceness of a Tiger. A pair of Addax horns adorned her head, and streaks of teal were smeared throughout her coat. She was a hunter, and one of the best might I add. She was born on a day of relentless western winds, just like you Zephyr. She was something special alright. I couldn't help but to foolishly fall in love with her. Years later and we had you, Zeph." A small smile appeared on his father's face, before he added. "I knew you would turn out just like your mother the day you were born, as the western winds were raging all over the West. A few weeks later and she was well...killed. By one of those good for nothing Sorith." His dad pointed to the cloth tied around Zephyr's hind leg with a single paw. "She used to wear that you know. It was a gift from her, she gave it to you the day you were born." A single, warm tear ran down his father's face, before he quickly wiped it away. Zephyr was on the brink of tears as well, but he kept himself strong, for his father's sake. "I-I...uhhhh...um, d-didn't know Daddy. Please don't be mad at me." Zephyr said softly, his watery teal eyes glued to the ground. His father sighed, but looked down at his son with caring blood red eyes. "Zephyr, why on Anteer would I be mad at you?" He smiled once more, and added. "You had to know, it was about time son." His father explained, his voice caring and comforting. "It's getting dark, we should head back to the den soon. Come on now." Zephyr's father got up from where he was sitting and motioned for his son to follow him back into the vibrant green forest in which their den was nestled in. Zephyr quickly got up and scampered after his dad. He remained silent for the whole walk to their cozy little den. {{ ... }} Zephyr raced through the luscious forest located in the territory of the main pack, he was late for training once again. He had forgotten that he was supposed to show up that day. He still had a while until he got to the pack's training grounds. He and his father had moved to the Center of Anteer years ago, seeking greater protection and connections in this new pack. He took this time to think, thoughts racing though his fast thinking brain. Even though it was the middle of winter, there was just a slight chill in the air. Zephyr's father was never really around all that much anymore, but Zephyr would never forget that moment, the day he was told about his mother. It was really a true bonding moment for he and his father, a point in time where he felt he could truly connect to his father. It was a memory that was forever engraved into his mind. Accessories: Three gold bangles around his right antler. A green/blue/yellow colored piece of cloth tied around his right hind leg. His Trainee necklace, which has blue and green beads hanging from it. Three Facts: - Decal and his army killed off the human race. - The type of tail an Isnaroh has depends on where it was born. - The Isnaroh wear items to show their ranks (ie. brace like armor for defenders, chest plates for leaders, etc.) Just so you know, the thing coming out of his hair on his neck is a small braid. c: All done. c: Sorry the story's a little long, I kinda really got into writing it |D |
