Still might work on the edit version.

Now, as of the story/background.
I was thinking more of the chupacabra/heck hound type thing.

Some people say its just a dog gone rabid, others say its just a lab experiment gone loose, and bad.
None of them actually know just how scary, how dangerous this beast is.
Being only knee height to a human, it has incredible speed and strenght, despite part of its bone structure prodruding out of its body.
They really dont know that its a beast from the pits of heck its self.
How are they formed into being? Once dead, the souls of the living go to... where ever, and on their way they need guards. These are the guards to the underworld... you don't want to see them once you pass on.
You can see them in the living world also, they have 'souls' themselves. They can't hurt humans.. badly, but they can end a living animals life, for thats what they need to live, is that animals life.
Most only come in Females, and there isnt very many of them.
They don't come in very unnatural colors, if they doi its dulled. They never have neons. They can have some unnatural markings though, but not many.
They usually wear the blood of their first 'visitors' on them. The more, the stronger.
They naturally can't die, since they are guards of souls. Seen mostly by the young and edlerly, some say its good luck for 'middle' aged people to see them. Only natural enemy are the opposing soul guards, the ones that take you 'up'. They are lighter colored and like their cousins, can be seen by the living. The Light varity doesn't have wings or halos. They're just there to take you home.

R.C.'s name: Saor -> Means 'Freedom' in Irish?
Age: 78
Gender: Male
Ranking: Claws
Personality: Saor is strong, and yet he is silent. He wishes not to find a mate untile he's ready, but he's not sure when that will be. He's feirce in battle, and takes no mercy, killing only when neading, and leaving a mark on his enemy if they try to get away scotch free. He's a loyal RC, with a love for what he does. <-- NYA I hate it, Ugh, i a so going to edit xD
Short Story: He unsheathed his claws, His back facing the snarling RC. His brown and white pelt seemed to be a shadow over his opponent's face. He did not speak, nor did any emotion cover his face, and yet, his eyes shone with what he was about to do. Saor shifted, turning his whole, silent body towards the shivering creature, he seemed to tower of him, with every inch of Saor, the creature shivered more, whimpers and whines came from it, but Saor blocked out all noises, he was sure of what he was to do, he was ordered to do it, and it was his way of proving he was loyal enough to be a Claw, and all he had to do was. . . Kill a refugee. Now you see, this was not any refugee, no no, you see, this was a cub, a young, defenceless refugee born cub, and as much as Saor's heart told him to stop, his brain told him loyalty. "I'm sorry young one" He spoke in a soft, yet hoarse voice "But it is my duty" he closed his eyes, pleading the cries of the young one would not peirce his memory, or his heart, his claws, already unsheathed "Please!" The young one pleaded, and Saor sighed, he lowered his paw, and opened his eyes "Tell me your name Cub" He said, his voice stern, the young one replied in a shaky voice "I am Kadence, Son of Dragomir and Lacrilia" Saor nodded, he kept the name in his mind, and he smiled, scratching the young cub lightly so the blood flowed onto his claws, fur tore off with it, he did the same with his other paw and nodded "go, and tell none of this, I must return now, they will wonder what took so long, be free now, and stay out of trouble" He wagged his little nub like a dog, he was proud of his doing, and he could see in Kadences eyes, he was glad "thank you Saor! You are forever in my dept!" He squeeled with glee, taking off back towards where his parents were hiding, they had watched, and as Kadences father lifted his head, Saor bowed his own in return, turning, he looked back over his shoulder and winked one green slithered eye, and made his way to be a Claws.

she is ok but I was looking for more natural colors and the blending of the colors don't mix too well, no tribal markings, only feathers...

Story:she was abandoned until the people found her and took het to the school... nobody liked her. Except for 1 other gryffon, who was also a darkness gryfon and they became best friends. But when they left the school, they never say eachother again. Itiru stayed at the school, she had nowhere else to go. When she did leave... she found her friend and they live together as I speak!
