I am unable to draw my own (that will look good) as i have trouble drawing using my tracpad on my laptop and i dont own anything else to draw lineart with I'm holding this contest to have my own species to color and what not...Winner will get a list pet and possibly more pets aswell.

My idea for the species is something lion/wolf based, I want it to be either angelic or evil (i love both) Thankyou!

about cloud cats


Cloud cats are felines with wings that live in flocks of 5-15. They are the size of a bob cat and always have swirly markings and usually have some stripes or spots as well. They have tails with fur in the end and manes they also have talon like claws for hunting and smaller ears than an average feline. Cloud cats make there homes by hollowing about clouds to make nests they eat birds and small land creatures like rodents, fish or lizards, they have one leader per flock who is not past by generations but when a leader dies soon after a cub is born with the power of a leader and is raised to be the next one. You will know a leader by there long manes, larger than normal wings and glowing markings. They also have one power that usually has to do with the sky. A cloud cat always wears two feathers. The first feather it ever molted and the primary feather of it's ceremony bird. A ceremony bird is a bird of prey that a cloud cat must kill to become a accepted adult in the flock,after it fights and kills the raptor it is followed by a celebration and a ceremony of growing up. The two feathers are worn anywere on the cat common places include around the neck as a necklace or in the mane.

During this artist comp I will only select ONE WINNER, which will be a guest artist for 2-4 weeks. If I see that the guest artist is doing a good job, I will make them into a permanent artist.

Species info:

Species name: Soul-Catching Wips
Gender ratio: 60% Female, 40% Male
Eyes: 70% chance of Heterochromia
Height range: 2 feet 5 inches - 4 feet 7 inches on average
Fur/Hair styles: Short (pictured), Curly, Long
Necklaces: More beads = more souls caught = higher magic
Carried talisman: Always made by the Wip when it comes of age, right after it's first Reaping.
Mating seasons: Year-round
Number of kits per litter: 2-4 (if you also make lines for the kits, you 're probably gonna get picked for first place as long as the lines are great!)

The string on one of the beads is for attaching a birth trinket- every Wip has one, and the higher their birthrights, the shinier the trinkets, and the higher chance of catching a mate's eye. It is also used for another trinket, which indicates rank. The more gold colored the rank trinket, the higher the rank (Alphas have diamond trinkets, and generally are high-borns and have elaborate talismans). The more beads they have, the higher their magic.

Wips live in Tribes of 6-45, unless Rogues, which are 2-5, or loners, which only have 1 Wip.

Lone Wips tend to not have any trinkets on their beads.
Also, the Talisman is generally used to capture souls.
Two teeth at the bottom of their mouth are hook-shaped, so when they need to walk they merely slip the string of the talisman into their mouths so their hook-teeth can hold it for them.

If the talisman breaks, the Wip dies.

Some Wips will break off of their Tribe or Pack and become pets/servants for humans and other speech-capable animals- even parrots. However, they tend to not make as much progress in souls as wild Wips.

Their lifespans are anywhere from 10-257 years, depending on rank, tribe/pack size, and souls in their area.

They tend to live in remote places, which is why most people never know of any. (they don't live in oceans, however)

Their eyes have colored pupils with a black ring around it, which are often a darker color of their eye color. (ex. If one eye is blue, the pupil would normally be dark blue unless it has four eye colors- two for the main eye, two for the pupils)

Their magic varies from Wip to Wip. Their are, however, categories of magic that they can be placed into. Some are only achieved through breeding.

Pelt info:
Wips can be almost any color besides neon ones (with the exception of their beads), and there is a limit of 7 pelt colors and up to 4 eye colors.

Now, onto what I'm looking for in the lineart (^ that was the species info, so you now have a good feel for the Wips!)

I like smooth linearts that look like you put your effort into it, not that you put time into it. Some people can just do a scribble and let it sit for an hour, so I want you to make sure you do your best and at your own pace! I don't really care if it takes you five minutes or five hours, quality is the key~
Gender symbols. If you don't do them I'll insert them myself, but having these would really be nice ^^
Linearts that look like my sketch. Not exactly like it, but I expect a little similarity- remember, they look more like cats than canines, with caninelike tails! They can also use their paws to hold their talismans.
Lock alpha coloring. I plan on designing and adopting these out, so coloring would be appreciated, along with shading (though shading is not needed)
