A nursery tale that goes around quite frequently is how the stars no longer shine as bright.
Long, long ago, warriors believed in a mystic clan called Starclan, creatures made of starlight and dreams, which brought them prophecies and guided them on long journeys. Along with them came Firestar, a fierce leader made of flames, bringing the four clans to greatness. As this occurred, the Dark Forest plotted their revenge on the stars who wronged them, who sent them to their demise. For moons, they awaited, until the perfect chance was upon them. They trained living warriors, those who'd assist them, showing them how true warriors fight, promising them justice for those who wronged them. And when the perfect moment hit? They struck, the living defeated, with the stars falling shortly after. Nobody truly knows what happened after, but that was long, long, long ago....

I love drawing cats traditionally but it doesn't transfer well on Oekaki (or digitally at all for that matter), so I need some help hence this challenge

HOW IT WORKS
➛ Carve your gourd however you want, you may also add items and paints to decorate.
➛ Each person can make a maximum of 3 different carvings (under individual posts).
➛ There are 3 available gourds, but feel free to draw your own.
➛ Existing gourds can be altered and recoloured as desired.
➛ You will then be given a genotype to match each gourd carving.
➛ You can select one of the genotypes that you would like to see created.
➛ When you've decided on your preferred design post your selection.

➛ Off-oekaki participants can draw their own gourd to carve.
➛ Off-oekaki participants must post their entries under a cover.

Here's a description: oulas will look similar to the creature above, but must have
(1) multiple snout/eye/wing/horn/tail options (not necessarily ALL FIVE of those, but at least 3 of them),
(2) multiple poses (2 min. don't have to have adult and nursery versions- can just be adult),
(3) nursery bases, and
(4) long- and short- hair versions (PREFERABLY for ALL poses and ages but CAN be just for the default adult and nursery bases).

hello! i'm looking to start up a species that i've had bouncing around in my head for a few years now, but i unfortunately hate using oekaki. for ease of any artists wanting to apply for an artist position for them, though, i would like to have the primary lines on oekaki, hence why i'm hosting this comp!

as you can see, i already have a pretty good idea of what i would like! of course, your lines do not have to be an exact 1-1 of mine, and feel free to change some things (or most things) for aesthetics sake. now, onto the prizes ⬇

Super excited for this contest so let's get right into it! First off, prizes! Cuz, let's face it, it's the first thing you scroll to when you visit a contest oekaki! ♡^~^♡

WHAT I'M LOOKING FOR:
◈ Sideways or partially sideways facing fox/cheetah or leopard like creature with a slim build
◈ Completely done layers that are easy to edit {Base color can literally be gray}
◈ Palette or room for a palette system to be made
◈ Different tail types {Each must be long with some amount of fluff on the tip! Curled is fine! ^~^}
◈ Horns/antler options of varying lengths and styles {The more the better!}
◈ Long cheek fur like what's drawn on the cover above!
◈ Pokémon style "flat paws".

◈ Fire, sparkling diamonds or some kind of gem stone or element on the tips of the ears
◈ A fluffy scarf-like mane around the neck
◈ The 'fur' on the tips of the ears range from wisps of fire to sparkling diamonds {The more variety, the better!}
◈ Very long, thin and delicate legs with tiny paws.
◈ {Nursery Lines are NOT required but if you add them, you will be rewarded WELL! Don't be afraid to PM if you want more details about it!}
◈ Delicate egyptian/gemstone or nature style accessories (example, ivy/flowers/leaves) are NOT required but greatly increase the odds of winning!

These two boys are Jareth and Shetan. They finally found each other, and are ready to get one step further. As I try to keep them as realistic as possible, they can not have cubs together. So they are searching for a cub in need of a loving home. And I am in need of someone to design them.
To state it clearly once more. I want them to adopt a cub, not have one together. One of them might be the real parent, but I actually prefer if neither is.

So I ask you to:
- design one or more cubs for the boys to adopt
- feel free to take ONE of the boys designs as inspiration
- feel free to use all natural colours or mix in unnatural ones

★ all three characters are meant to be an alien species with two different forms. they were designed in a lab with the intent to explore their galaxy to collect materials and learn about the other planets and species that coinhabit their universe. little else is known about their origins.
★ on the surface, they appear as domesticated cats that wear astronaut helmets (rip). these are the helmet designs:

★ it is crucial that the helmet designs stay relatively the same as what i've drawn up. artistic/style additions (for instance, buttons/details to make it look more like a proper astronaut helmet) are totally fine, but the overall design should stay the same. the colors, however, are up to you! the only exception to this rule is that the "HELLO! STAY CALM" is meant to be "HELLO! PLEASE STAY CALM", but i forgot to add the 'PLEASE'.
★ the second form of the characters is meant to be a scarier, more alien-like form. think shadow creatures come to life! they are meant to be closer in anatomy to a human, but you can use more of your imagination for this part, as i haven't come up with any solid idea, myself. (for instance, if you want them to be upright like a human, but retain tails/ears/etc., that's totally fine! similarly, feel free to add extraterrestrial traits, like antennae/webbed fingers/etc.)


"HELLO! PLEASE STAY CALM"
★ this creature's helmet has 2 sets of horns, 2 cartoon-ish googly eyes, floating star-dust between the larger pair of horns, and a small tv attached to the helmet (the box-looking thingy) which plays 90's-style video games. the helmet's shield displays the phrase: "HELLO! PLEASE STAY CALM" at all times
★ the moodboard that i've made for them can be seen here: boop. (important: you do not necessarily have to use colors/design aspects from this board, but you are welcome to do so! it was mostly made with the character's personality/presentation in mind, so interpret it as you will!)
★ other important details: this creature is the most "put together" of the 3. they do everything confidently and present as a calming, almost ethereal character. aside from the googly eyes (i promise they have a purpose lol), they pride themselves on their clean, professional appearance and can easily appear to be the "leader" of the group. don't be fooled, though- this creature no doubt has some tricks up their sleeve, and sometimes comes across as a wolf in sheep's clothing.

"NO SIGNAL"
★ this creature has mechanical ears in the shape of a cat's ears on their helmet, with artificial plants/vegetation "growing" from the insides. the purpose of this is to attract bees, which they keep in the cylinder attached to the helmet. there is also an invisible floral fragrance that emits from the "ears" to help attract the bees. their helmet always displays the phrase: "NO SIGNAL"
★ the moodboard that i've picked for this character can be seen here: boop (again, interpret as you will!)
★ other important details: this the "space-y friend" who is always lost in their own little world. well-meaning but often out-of-touch, this creature has a calming if not odd presentation. they truly seem to only care about their bee friends (and nature as a whole.) however, they are gentle to their core and will assist others to the best of their ability! just don't expect them to have heard anything you just told them c:

"HELP"
★ this creature's helmet splits open almost like a jaw in design, with rows of "teeth" that line the helmet's shield. (in truth nobody knows for sure what the "teeth" are- just that they're sharp!) like a skull, there are empty eye/nose sockets at the top (although it's completely artificial!) and the eye-sockets glow. lastly, there is a pair of antennae similar to what you would see in a moth, with long frills attached. the helmet's shield displays the word "HELP" at all times.
★ the moodboard that i've chosen for this creature can be seen here: boop. unlike the others, i do ask that there is some incorporation of "rainbow on black" incorporated into the design (to what degree and in what way is up to you!)
★ other important details: this creature has a huge background of being largely misunderstood. when the three creatures were made, their creator designed each of them an individual purpose that was meant to be wired into their system. unfortunately, there was an accident before this creature could have their purpose given to them, thus leaving them with a largely chaotic and destructive personality. (think Stitch, but on steroids!) they crave a better understanding of who they are and what they were meant for, leading to an endless cycle of frustration and confusion.


★ either bright or pastel colors against dark canvases
★ in general, dark palettes and pastel palettes tend to be my favs
★ unique designs that are still easy enough to reproduce in artwork
★ for the cat forms, it should be noted that i have a huge soft spot for fluffiness, particularly in tails
★ if you choose to go with "natural" cat markings, doing anything with a calico/tortie marking is a plus
★ for the second/alien forms, i definitely have a soft spot for glowy eyes and shadow-like features
★ space elements/themes in general are a plus


★ anything gory, on either form (including candy gore)
★ cyclops (in general, sticking between 2 and 4 eyes is probably best)
★ edgy/punk/rock designs. just not my thing
★ eye-burn designs
★ gills/fins/aquatic features (other than webbed feet, which i don't mind)

here is a short and vague list of some design characteristic i enjoy :
- contrasting designs (top half is darker than bottom half, etc)
- stripes resembling tigers or strips
- symmetrical design with an asymmetrical “piebald”
- dark, saturated colors
- cat and/or dog like markings

Hello there everyone. For those who have known me for a while, you know I bought these lines back in 2015. I absolutely love them and I don't want the design changed. That being said the lines do need some cleaning up and due to that so does the shade, highlight, and color layers. I am willing to pay quite a bit for this. In fact I have I have this trade group. I am offering the entire group to the winner. The group includes a list pet. Any help is appreciated. If anyone knows how to do greyscale shading, I would absolutely love to have that. If not that is fine. I have just always loved how greyscale makes it look so natural and that is what I am looking for. Also I was told they have a bit of a dragon like feature. Without changing the profile and design too much could you add a layer that can be deleted if I don't like that shows some dragon like features? I want to keep this lovely design. I just really need them cleaned up. If it makes things easier you can delete all the layers but the background actual lines and the moss layers and start from there instead of fixing the existing shade and color. i would have posted just the lines but I didn't want to lose the moss or the background.
