hello there! so for a bit of time ive been contemplating some stuff, and ive decided i want to get an angel character to rival my persona, Sona, who is a cow demon. this is mostly because (im lazy) i need more mains and have a little story planned, but need adversaries.

greetings! as the title and image state, i am running a competition for some brown rat [rattus norvegicus] lines, for some rat adopts i plan on making.

i prefer realistic lines to cartoony ones, but i won't turn down cartoony lines if they're done well.

I have failed in doing so myself, unsatisfied with many designs i have made for a while. kouta has 'retired', and for your benefit and mine, its best you don't know why!
lmao so yeah!

watcha gotta know;

• this is basically a 'draw me a character' contest. i'll be keeping an entry-- or entries?
  
• Shade is very much polyromantic/pansexual! you can give your entry any gender, and make as many entries as you like!
• a full reference isn't needed, you can do a halfbody/bust, anything that works for you!
• additional snippets of your entry's personality is a pretty big booster
• and a backstory?? would be really amazing too!
• Shade has canonically lived through three centuries, but his 'current' age is 21. < basis of age range for your entry
• Shade is also capable of slipping through realities/dimensions/universes, so your entry can be anything/anyone
• ^ but on that note, it is majorly preferable that what you create is humanoid
• feral/anthro entries are permitted, but in the case i happen to favor an entry such as that i'll be making a 'human' version of them!
• i also have three funky sketches in there that you can mess with / use as a base if you'd like jlfajslfsj
• your entries can also be done offsite
• you can use other bases from elsewhere as long as you include a link/credit to the original artist

Competition Overview

I've been struggling to find equine designs for my harpg stable, so I figured a competition would be a nice way to find some new additions!! I'll try to keep things pretty straightforward to avoid confusion, but please be sure to read everything nonetheless!! As of right now, this competition will end in one month on June 20, 2019. Extensions may be given if there arent many entries!! More prize tiers may be added as well.

• I'm looking for realistic designs, as in genetically possible in real life. Chimeras and unique mutations are perfectly fine, despite the fact they rarely come up in the real world. As long as it could exist, feel free to go for it!!
• To get specific, some of my favorite coat colors are: liver chestnuts, silver bays, standard or flaxen chestnuts, any color roan, wild bays, cherry bays, seal bays, any champagne/pearl/cream variety, any buckskin variety, smoky black, sooty bay, and sooty palomino. Feel free to combine coat colors and modifiers in any way honestly!! I love unique genos.
• I'm a bit reluctant when it comes to gray or black horses, but I would like to get into them, so go for it if you want a bit of a challenge!!
• For markings, sometimes I like to keep things simple, and other times I like to go a bit crazy. The standard appaloosa or paint markings are always great, but I also like grease and birdcatcher spots as well. Dapples are also a lovely addition to any horse!! That all being said though, don't shy away from simple if it works. Cute face markings will always get me, even if the rest of the horse is solid.
• Overall, I'm looking for creativity!! Show me what you can do with the variety of genes horses have to offer.

• You may make as many entries as you'd like, and if multiple entries of yours win you'll get the prizes for every tier you placed on.
• You don't have to use the provided lineart. If you'd rather work on another base or create your own lineart, that's perfectly fine!!
• Please try to avoid being indecisive and suddenly pulling out your entry. If you must keep a design you made for this contest, please indicate that upfront on the post.
