You need a base to start with, colors to work with based on lighting. I'm doing something called "Selective shading" meaning whatever color you use, you select a slightly darker color for shading. as is visible. I blured half the colored areas so far so you can see how I do it.
all shading is on the same layer as it's specific area, fo example, the skin layer uses it's own layer for the slightly blue-the darker blue.
the gloves work the same way. to original color is found around the middle, so it still retains it's original value.

the main aspect of line-less drawing is color, detail, detail. the shading has to define the difference between seams. you can't tell right now, but the fingers on the left hand are separated by shading alone. it's a very slight difference, but it's enough to define one from the other.

as for the BG, told you it was gonna be simple, didn't I?

like all drawings you start with a sketch, we'll be doing a quick BG for this, so there won't be a huge point of doing a second step simply for that, but with most no-line drawings you'd want to start with your BG.

I've bee working with foreshortening, so this won't be easy for me either, bu the next step shouldn't be too hard.
and yes, the character is wearing pants/shorts. it's shorted on the left side than the right, but point is, they are clothed properly.

I was just trying to get the light affect, I know the water is sucky .-.

I used this as a reference for the water, but then forget about it. So I only slightly used it, in the end.
