How to draw MLP!
STEP 1:
 ((Draw a circle with two triangles. Believe me. This does NOT have to be perfect, it's only your sketch.)) Easy, right? STEP 2:  Next, the neck and nose. The nose is pretty much a tilted "U" with a more tapered end. The neck explains itself, I believe. STEP 3:  Draw a sideways "S" for the body, and do a not very well curved "C" for the beginning of one of the legs. STEP 4:  For the legs, all you have to do are 3 straight lines with curves at the end for the lower leg. STEP 5:  Draw a "C" with more curve on the top for the hing-leg, and just two lightly curved lines make up the actual leg. STEP 6:  Create a new layer. Double click the layer. It should allow you to rename the layer. Call it "Lines". If you haven't decided which pony to draw, decide now. Find a ref if you need to. Do you see the body color on your pony? Try to find that on the colors in the Oekaki. When you do, drag the little circle downwards for about half a centimeter. There's your line color! Now, if you're happy with your sketch, you can just make the pen a few sizes bigger and trace them in the "Lines layer! (Or, you can do a few minor edits on the lines layer like I did) STEP 7:  Draw the mane. (Here, you can head back to the "Sketch" layer to get your mane perfect- That's what I did (>^.^<) ) STEP 8:  Add eyes. The eyes are just circles with tapered ends. for the pupils, just put large circles inside of your tapered circles. Also, add nostrils and a mouth, and I think those two can explain themselves. Next, make a new layer. Label it "shading" and drag the layer BELOW the "Lines' layer. STEP 9:  Get on the shading layer and select airbrush from the tools menu. Use the same color that you used for the lines. Choose the right size brush for your drawing (I suggest almost 2x larger) And highlight your pony's body. Next, make a new layer and drag it BELOW the shading layer. Label it "Color" STEP 10:  Color your pony's body, mane and tail. For the eyes, fill the pupils with the main eye color. Then, drag the circle in the color box down about a centimeter, then do a dot of the color up in the top of your pony's eye (Make the dot pretty big) Then, choose the "blender" option, and slowly drag your mouse back and forth across the eye. Ta da! Next, go to the shading layer and select the airbrush. Select the color white and then highlight your mane and tail. Add a BG if you want! |
