i've always had a hard time doing finished art for other people. i always end up unmotivated and just procrastinate until it ends up months late.
i finally decided tonight to close my art shop because of this. i tried to see if there were ways to make it easier on myself before i closed, but nothing seemed to work and i could never finish many things.
i do feel bad about it.
i know there's people who liked my art and wanted art from me.
but i couldn't get it done in a decent amount of time and that fact was making me feel worse about it.
everyone was so patient and nice, and reminded me it was okay to take my time, and i really appreciate those people for that. but i kept worrying about making people upset with how long it took to finish the commission.
some day i may open up an oekaki sketch shop, but i think i'm gonna stick to making adopts for now, as i can make those at my own pace.
i kinda need to sleep now. its 1 am.

I wanted to try out a more painterly artstyle for a while now and today I was blessed with motivation ^^

So here is a portrait of one of my D&D characters, Shura Melarn, a over 600 year old drow assassin 😁

It's a little wonky, since I was drawing on my smartphone while in bed, but I think it turned out nice enough.
