yeah thats a mood and a half, what I do is just listen. I dont have to respond, talk, anything- just listen. if things go quiet let them go quiet. if its an awkward quiet (and it isn't always even tho im sure you'll feel like it) bring up some random fact and watch their reaction. some cool facts:


> Flamingos are pink because of the krill they eat- so baby flamingos, who haven't eaten all the pink bugs are grey.
> Your ulna and radius are crossed if your palm is facing away from you.
> When you snap its not the two fingers pressure making the sound, its your finger hitting the flesh of your thumb.
> Dark chocolate is healthier for you then milk chocolate (good for skin, plus less sugar!)
> The lactose in milk is a natural-occuring sugar people have a sensativity to the sugar in milk, so when you add more sugar it makes it worse (i.e a milkshake or icecream causes a worse reaction, and sometimes a reaction to people who aren't actually lactose intolerant)
> When drinking cat and dog tongues curl backwards to scoop the liquid


these are all ones i know for such occasions
the facts are weird enough to start discussion, but not common enough for like... eeevery person to know

it's okay! i mean, handing in portfolios can be pretty stressful, and i don't think that you did anything wrong. the fact that you failed a class doesn't mean that you're not good at it, either. just try to keep up with it, and maybe make sure that you know everything. i may not be in the same situation as you are right now, but just try to change the subject with your friend. maybe respond the next day, and then maybe delete the text conversation (i mean, that's what i do). i don't know if this is much help for you, but just try to hang in there! <3

I'm terrible with advice, but I can say I know how that feels.

I actually had to switch high schools my senior year because I didn't turn in a required project. All cause I was too nervous to do it. Idk your situation, but just personally as someone with social anxiety & as someone who is a bit of a perfectionist, I've always had a /very/ hard time turning in projects and important papers and whatnot. Even though I know turning in anything is better than nothing, its really difficult for me if I don't feel like the final product is perfect. I end up not turning in anything at all cause it feels like its not good enough to turn in, and I'm too nervous to turn in what feels like a sub-par product.

Which I know makes zero sense but, mm, still something I struggle with. Only thing I can really suggest is, don't beat yourself up over it. Sometimes I have to remind myself not to drown in all my regrets and failures, they happened, and I can't change them, but I can try and do better, you know? I probably would suggest finding out, if you think you might have something impeding you, I didn't find out about my anxiety till pretty late, and I wish I'd figured it out a lot sooner. Just knowing its there and recognizing when it is effecting me has done a lot to help me combat it. And just speaking from experience, whether I wanted to take medication was up to me, and in my own case, they can only help a bit, they don't solve the problem on their own.

I'm pretty sure I'm 100% terrible at these types of posts, but I wanted to say something because, I can relate a lot, and I just wanted to say, you shouldn't blame yourself, and I hope things get better <3

That person who treated you like that though, they’re just butthurt and I glad/hope that you didn’t let them affect you too much because people like that shouldn’t hold power over others, (emotionally, mentally, etc.) But yes, I get your point a lot, although sometimes the jokes are funny when someone says an object is their gender, but even that still gets people offended for some reason. But when someone jokes about “aRe yOu ASSumINg thEIR gENDer?”, it’s just not funny, because I get their point about insulting non-cisgender identities, so I definitely agree with you a lot on that. (Also, YES, people need to start RESPECTING those who have Autism, it doesn’t make someone “dumb”, it isn’t “contagious”, etc. I have a little cousin who has that, and a really close friend who has that as well and she’s an absolute sweetheart. People who joke about Autism get a straight out no from me, and don’t understand the concept of jokes at all.)
