I FINALLY DID A STRANGE AND FUN POSE.
AND I DON'T WANT TO SEEM DUMB.
BUT.
I'M REALLY PROUD OF MYSELF?!!! ;_____;

Okay, yeah, it's far from perfect and the proportions are off and hey, maybe I'm the only one who doesn't find it ugly. But... I did it.

This is a big deal to me. I've struggled with drawing bodies or fun poses. Whenever I'd sit down to try and draw something that's a funky pose or includes a hand or something, I'd freak out and mess up everything and end up trashing it because it was beyond awful. That almost happened today, I started drawing someone SIMPLY crossing their arms and it went all ugly and I was like, "I QUIT." But then I felt the urge to look at my Baekhyun folder on my phone. I spotted this one picture of him making a goofy little pose because he was trying to distract the crowd from the ripped and falling paper that was used to hide the members as they got changed. (And when they're done, they burst through it all happily and it's really neat!) I just saw a video from that time yesterday so I was, "Hey, why not?" And I started sketching the pose out... It was gonna be just a lame practice and I was planning on deleting it but then it ended up being something I'm really proud of????

I bet you're all tired of me being happy about my art but this is just a huge thing for me. I'm used to being under the shadow of my siblings (Who I LOVE and know they don't mean me any harm.) and I'm used to hating my art because it's never been something that people adore like my other sibling's writing and art. But I'm slowly growing to love ME and MY talents.

So... I guess Baekhyun's happy face and pose in this picture represent me as well. Maybe I'm not breaking through the mold (or paper, in this case.) totally and maybe I'll look at this art in a few days and say, "Why did I ever LIKE this?!" Maybe IRL people's shallow and small reactions to this art will dampen my spirits like they usually do. Maybe I won't get the reaction I wanted online. Maybe people will think this art sucks. Maybe my head will tell me, "You think one pose is impressive? Look at everyone else who draws! They do full bodies all the time, you're lame!"

But for now? I like this. I like the way I'm traveling in my art journey. I will celebrate this small victory. I will keep dancing and drawing and smiling and continue to try and love myself more.

The timer is mostly accurate, I used a mouse, and please don't steal or repost this! It only took me one drawing session, I just had to switch out of Sketches and Experiments! My adorable reference picture was this! (He's sooo precious, help me. ;-;)
